94 was a season to forget. Loved the Walden era uniforms though. I don't like that they went with this look vs Nebraska when they're also sporting red pants. It would've looked better against the likes of Colorado or Kansas State.

Hard disagree. The Freddy unis had way too much damn yellow. WAY too much. They looked older/cheesier than any of our uniforms from 1975 - 1995. IMHO, they chose the correct classic uni to model after (and it vibes well with kid's preferences today).
I would love to see this past weekend's white helmet with white or gold pants with the cardinal jerseys. My son pointed out the stripe on top of the helmet was a nice touch, but should have gold with cardinal on both sides to match all of the other cardinal, or vice versa. Then if I had my ultimate wish, match that stripe on the pants.
Are there any mockups of what cardinal helmet, black top, cardinal pants would look like? Maybe that wouldn’t be a good look, but I’d be interested in seeing it.

Well, if you're into plain Jane unis, I can see your point. The Hoiberg unis were unique to ISU and a good look back then and would be now with the only suggested change being a narrowing of the side stripes. There was good reason for chucking the plain Janes after only two seasons prior to Fred's arrival.
Thankfully, they only wore the red pants at home twice in that uniform era. '93 Iowa (debut) and '94 Nebraska.
The 1992-95 uniforms had a yellow side panel -- and it flared even wider on the shorts.

Yep, they were great back then and would be greater now with narrowing of the side stripes, especially on the pants and would be great as primary replacements of the current set. Not sure why they didn't roll with these after showing numerous clips of them on social media.
