Why is everyone talking like ESPN is handling picking these teams for the playoffs?

The games are actually on.......checks notes........TBS?? I don't know what that has to do with Espn.

ESPN sub-licensed those games to TBS. They still have financial incentive in them

I do wish the TV partners would setup a soccer style schedule and play all conference games at the same time slot. Big10 11:00 (no impactful games), Big12 2:30, SEC 6:30. At least the games that have impact on the CCG’s.

I'd rather have the opposite and have as little overlap as possible with Big 12 games. I generally care about those a lot more than an SEC game or Big ten game, so I'd rather have the Big 12 games spread out so I can watch them throughout the day instead of having to divide attention between multiple games at the same time

I'm not sure if it was discussed but targeting should have been called on Georgia in regulation when GT went for it on 4th and 1 and the QB fumbled. Georgia guy cam in and lead with his head and blew up the GT QB.
1. The targeting
2. The other fumble (GA)
3. The PI on 4th down (tipped ball + not really PI in the first place)
4. Blatant holding non-call

Those are the 4 obvious things 'we' all saw that were ignored by both the officials and the announcers to continue the narrative.

I was going to ask who we should be cheering for in that one... I guess I'll cheer against KU
This is the way in case the Couch burners blow it. Then root for Cincy. Baylor and Cincy have to win together or it doesn’t matter if one does and the other doesn’t

They do it in soccer to minimize the odds of a match outcome impacting the outcome of another match. For example if BYU wins knows they are eliminated from the championship tonight they may not play as hard and end up losing a game that they should otherwise win. This is all hypothetical of course, but there is some logic to it.

Even more important in soccer when a team knows if they need to play for a win or just a tie depending on other games.

I do think college football has more incentives and motivation to win “just because” than a pro team who knows season is totally over.
