Five first downs. FIVE. 0 for 10 on 3rd down.Iowa got their TD on a 72-yard run after catch by Kaleb Johnson where Nebraska missed at least 4 tackles. That was literally their one big play. Iowa got one FG after recovering a muffed punt, and their other, winning FG after Nebraska fumbled at their own 36 with under a minute left.
A typical dominant never-in-doubt Hawkeye win.
The Nebraska running back also fumbled a couple plays before the imitation Mahomes fumble. The back recovered it but they were not good with ball security.Five first downs. FIVE. 0 for 10 on 3rd down.
Nubs handed it to them, and they had to work hard at giving it away for Iowa to win by 3.
- Two false starts on 4th and 1.
- Missed FG.
- Muffed punt.
- Lost another fumble.
- 4 sacks.
- Gave up 25 yd punt return.
Nubs had twice the yardage and TOP.
Just a ludicrous display.
The best part of all this is you know the Nebby fans have been obsessing with 'what if's' since Friday night. They are the Uncle Rico's of college football. The Nebraska running back also fumbled a couple plays before the imitation Mahomes fumble. . Just a ludicrous display.
I was just talking with an Iowa fan who was at the game. He said the Nebraska fans turned out strong at Kinnick, wearing red, marching around the concourse chanting, and generally arrogantly secure in the belief they were going to win this one.The best part of all this is you know the Nebby fans have been obsessing with 'what if's' since Friday night. So, a lot like Iowa fans when they travel to an opponent's stadiumI was just talking with an Iowa fan who was at the game. lol.
Ferentz always try to walk it in!“Did you see that ludicrous display last night?”
Watch KU qb and all the rest of he team walk off the field after the failed lateral. They knew it was a lateral and a fumble. WTF, Pereira and the KU coaching staff!I listened to the game with Walters call, watching replay with Fox call...Mike Pereira has no idea what he's talking about on that first fumble saying he pitches it at the 23 and it moves up a yard to the 24. It looks like it comes down almost exactly where he lets go of it. I think he might be one of those refs who didn't get into it for being gifted in spacial awareness.
The camera angle made it look like it went forward a bit. I think it was the right call in the end. Not conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field. I feel that should be the outcome more times than not.Watch KU qb and all the rest of he team walk off the field after the failed lateral. They knew it was a lateral and a fumble. Eric Heft made a great observation about 4 or 5 minutes into the official review. He said there should be a 2 minute limit on all official reviews because if you can't find conclusive evidence for overturning the call after 2 minutes of review, then the call on the field should stand. The camera angle made it look like it went forward a bit. Ya I've been thinking there should be a time limit for a couple years now.Eric Heft made a great observation about 4 or 5 minutes into the official review. This game took over 4 hours and the first quarter was a marathon. With a feels like temperature of 7 degrees, those fans who made it through the entire game should get half priced tickets for next season.
I'm I miss remembering or did the NFL have a time limit on reviews when they were first used?Ya I've been thinking there should be a time limit for a couple years now.
Not sure. That sounds right to me though.I'm I miss remembering or did the NFL have a time limit on reviews when they were first used?
I found an article from 2003 stating the referee had 90 seconds of monitor time. Not sure. That sounds right to me though.
