Seems kind of ******* crazy that a team tied for first in the conference doesn't get a single first team guy (Noel was co-special teams player of year though!).

Honestly, Tyson over Higgins is my only complaint.. Travis Hunter is a freak and deserves 1st team WR and CB

On the positive side, this outcome shows just what a *team* Iowa State is right now.
It's not a mediocre roster being carried by a few studs ready to play on Sunday (which, to be frank, was how it felt at times in the past under Campbell with guys like DM, Breece, Butler, Lazard, X, and Purdy on offense and guys like Uwazurike, Will McDonald, Anthony Johnson, and TJ Tampa on defense).
It's a roster full of guys who are good though maybe not great college players. They play together well. And their ability to absorb injuries this season has been magnificent. The level of attrition we've seen this year would have ruined many of the McCarney, Rhoads, and the earlier Campbell teams.

If Dom Orange were more consistent, his ceiling is 1st team but he had a couple duds this year.. Jontez will be 1st team next year (If we can keep him).
This team is a sum of parts more than individual performances. Look at how many injuries we have had on defense and the unit kept us in most games.
I also think offensive play calling held back Noel and Higgins by several hundred yards on the season. We also had virtually nothing from our #1 TE all year, after he finished 2023 #3 on the team in receiving yards.
That's a tough one. Hunter had more catches, yards and TDs. Would have liked to see Higgins on there though. There's not another receiver in the league I'd rather have.
