OK, I will give you preseason rankings. Those are BS.

But if you beat the #10 team or whatever mid-season - they were considered #10 at the time the game is played. Kansas State was ranked #24 at the time the game was played. The history books have literally always given teams credit for, ya know, beating ranked teams on the day they played them.

Unfortunately, none of this matters. Agendas and narratives matter. It is easy to spin ANY of this sh*t a million different ways.

"Iowa State has a top 20 win on the road @ Iowa, huge win! Along with another top 25 win against K-State - Iowa State is a very good team"

"Iowa State has 0 wins against the current top 25 - Iowa State is not a legit team."

"Illinois got a nice ranked win against Kansas in the non-conference - great non-conference win helping to prove they deserve to be ranked NOW in the CFP."

"Kansas is sub-500 - what a terrible loss for Iowa State!"

"BYU beat SMU before they were hitting their stride, so it doesn't really count as a ranked road win."
The change in this magnifies their ability to manipulate. Not only can they under-rank or over-rank a team as necessary to achieve the effect that they want on the final playoffs, they can under-rank or over-rank their opponents to justify it.

Well, if CFP follows AP, ASU will get the #4 and first round bye.

Would go:
#1: Oregon
#2: Georgia
#3: Boise
#4: AZ State
#5: Notre Dame
#6: Texas
#7: Penn St
#8: Ohio St
#9: Tenn
#10: Indiana
#11: Alabama
#12: Clemson
Really hope SMU makes it in over Alabama.

Saban already making his case for Alabama.

If he had his way... nobody outside of the SEC or B1G should get in because nobody else plays a tough schedule at all. Total BS.

It’s so funny and I can’t tell if these people think logically. The SEC and Big 10 schedules are inflated by garbage pre season ratings but that’s what they hang their hats on.

In the SEC let’s take a look. OK State beat Arkansas, Florida lost to Miami, Auburn lost to Cal, LSU lost to a trash USC team, just to name a few.

They don’t drop a ton in the rankings but then they get to conference and it’s the teams are still over inflated but they don’t drop because of the pre season perception.

It’s absolute trash.
