While watching that replay I was really impressed with how much Milan's D has improved over last year. He was staying in front of any match-up he ended up in. At one point it seemed like he was voluntarily switching repeatedly at the top of the key so he was going from one guard to another shutting each of them down from driving and not giving them enough space to get off anything but a logo 3. The guards thought they had a mismatch they could exploit but Momcilovic wasn't having any of that noise.

Got my tickets this morning, still rows and rows of empties about halfway up the corners. $39 all in directly from the box office, resellers are still above that mark for whatever reason.

I thought the announcers said when they came back from the media break that the official told them that Jeff had received a couple of warnings before being T'd up.

That part I didn't catch. And I don't believe TJ said anything about it post game.

Imo it needs to be corrected though (and it's a lame look on JJ's part against such a bad team) before it happens at the worst time.

Does that include the pizza slice?

It would be mildly fun to go to CHA among what few fans EIU has and just mollywop them.

However some in this thread reminded me how insane getting out of that place is, all the way out onto the interstate system. You think getting out of Hilton parking lots is bad? All that on a Thursday night, no less.

The experience of the game would be pretty fun, hopefully, but every single other part would likely completely suck.

BUT I'm glad a bunch of Cyclones fans will be braving the elements to go to the game. If you're from that area or have never been, this is definitely the game to take in.
I purchased tickets last night (2 for $100 total with fees included) and was worried about traffic situation as well.

After checking out some Iowa threads on Reddit (ew) it appears there is free parking at the Hancher Auditorium, with free shuttles running to and from CHA before and after the game. Will hopefully make getting out of there much easier. Never been to CHA before, so hoping to appreciate the greatness of Hilton if nothing else.

Lame if the talk is one way... If teams are talking trash both ways (which definitely happens even in buy games - and even buy games that aren't close) I don't think it is a lame look, but it can be costly to get caught in a big game and give up 2 points and a foul.

Speaking of trash talking, after Kelderman couldn't get up for a cross court pass that was way too high for him I so much wanted him to drop the "too small" motion to his teammate who had thrown a Momcilovic height pass his way. :D

He's better and can hold his own against Jackson St and less athlete power programs like Colorado. But there's a reason he wasn't out there at the end of the Auburn & Marquette games. We have so many scorers now that TJ isn't willing to trade D for O.

Absolutely he has room to grow defensively, but the progress is real and he is still just a true sophomore. And now we have a powerful Offense/Defense 1/2 punch if we need to sub situationally at the end of games with MM and NH.

Michigan was 4-20 from 3 on Saturday and turned it over 17 times to Iowa's 4... and won. Iowa's interior D is terrible. We only lose if we miss a lot of bunnies, manage to turn it over trying to break their press, and they consistently pass out of our traps to open shooters (like BYU did last year). All of that is certainly possible but quite unlikely. I hate this game and I'm dreading it like a root canal.

It’s still a cluster getting out of the Hancher lot afterwards (cite: I’ve been there for many touring Broadway productions), but at least it’s not that far back to I80 via Dubuque Street. Just keep your patience handy.

I fully expect EIU to come out and hit something like 12/14 3 pointers, and get our bigs into foul trouble. Its the only way they have a chance to win the game. If they have one of their nights, where they are hitting their shots and can get out and run the court, leading to easy baskets or getting to the foul line we are going to be in trouble. More likely to happen is our guards body the hell out of their soft guards, they struggle hitting their shots and only make 7 or so from 3, and we win comfortable by 15. I guess we are going to find out Thursday nite.

My anxiety level gets ridiculously high when we play Iowa so I've decided I'm going to record the game and watch Brock Purdy upset the Rams. Then, assuming we win, I will watch the game afterwards.

Hoping to be up late Thursday night.

What are some of the options for parking at Carver-Hawkeye? I realize not good. But I am getting there a little earlier.

When he was doing his HazzleDazzle stuff at 13, SoundOff was better than SNL at its peak. His perversely accurate Gary Dolphin was a riot and his delusional Husker fan was shockingly lifelike.
The guy is basically a professional jokester. Don’t let him offend you folks, it’s all part of the schtick. Grow a sense of humor
