The offense reminds me of what I just let the computer do when I used to play NBA 2K11. Rudimentary is how it looks to me.
It's like in middle school where you throw the ball to the big kid.

Why did out player travel on that rebound? Becuase the Husky behind her pushed her in the back. I am really starting to wonder if the officials think the game is not worth calling anymore.

AND before you say a ******* word apologists. NO, the officials didn't lose the game for us, we played D poorly, we didn't shoot well, we didn't get fouled well enough to get the call, etc. etc. etc.

But the officials are STILL not doing us any favors. The Former does not have any affect the Latter.

You simply cannot chalk up this sort of effort tonight, and our effort again South Carolina, and Iowa, and… to being a “young” team. This is really bad basketball. Period.
We just outscored them 25-18 in the 2nd quarter. Effort was there. Can't have it both ways, we actually played a pretty good 2nd quarter. The first was the issue.

Honestly, for as talented as she is, she's clearly a pretty unserious player. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, necessarily, but I've sort of learned to live with that sort of thing.
She is solid on offense but I would love e to see her take defense more seriously. Their effort has picked up a little.

I like that things settled down in the second. That bodes much better if our guards as a whole can come alive. Also, ban Crooks from ever shooting a three again. be interesting to see how the sisters come out in the third.

I agree but also this imo is not the same as those games. We’re still making mistakes we shouldn’t be, but the effort has mostly been there. They’re trying after getting into a very quick 26 point hole. The opening defensive scheme was not a good idea but it’s improved since we shifted out of the zone.

That’s a fair take. And I appreciate the adjustments and effort. Too bad they came after the game was all but over in the 1Q.

I've heard that the best refs by far are in the NBA, the second-tier guys do NCAA men's, then you're dealing with the dregs.

We were preseason top 10 and may not make the tournament.
What in the world would EVER give you that idea? Pre-season is all hype and should never be taken seriously. Look at Baylor, UConn and Houston in the men's side. I’m sure all their fans are writing them off too.

Maybe one day she will start being aggressive and laying out for balls on the floor. Making hustle plays. Having stronger hands when she has the ball. Very talented, but could be absolutely unstoppable if she wanted to be.

The only thing that frustrates me about this team is their lack of ball sense. They dribble into terrible situations, they pass the ball to well guarded people, they are weak with the ball when they possess it with two hands and they don't come to the stranded player's rescue.

I'm pretty sure they practice this sort of thing, but really they should not have to. This is basic stuff.

May not make the tournament, we were a six seed in the latest bracket. Nice optimism
I’d wait for any takes like that until we see Big 12 play. Supposed #9 TCU put up a similar performance as we did against South Carolina. Conference is not this strong or anywhere close to it.

I think it looks like she is not taking it seriously because she is simply too big and it makes her way too slow on defense. I don’t see that changing.

I see better changes from the start of this game *sans zone D*. We weren't trying to feed the post on every play, ball movement has been better, movement off the ball was better. Switching man was working better in the second and good box outs.
Baby steps. We play for March...
