Tang go so lucky his first year when he made that run. Can't remember who they played to make it to the elite 8 but it wasnt the hardest teams for sure.

They were a 3 seed and played 14 seed Montana State, 6 seed Kentucky, 7 seed Michigan State. Lost to 9 seed FAU in the Elite Eight.

Tang said in post game presser that his guys are feeling too much pressure because they're getting paid, and fans who are adding to that pressure aren't real fans.
Awe, poor things, they are just so downtrodden.

To the 2nd part, it's almost as if fans are going to start being concerned that they are donating all this NIL money and you get results like last night and a guy averaging 8.8ppg for 2 million.

He said he was proud of his players effort tonight and put the blame on himself and his staff for not giving the players a better chance to win.

I'm sorry but I have no sympathy here. You want to be paid like a pro, then you'll get criticism like a pro. There's certainly a line that shouldn't be crossed where criticism takes another form, but fans being upset when your 2 million dollar player isn't living up to it is fair game as far as I'm concerned.

There is 0 chance Coleman Hawkins is making $2 million this year. Part of me hopes once this stuff is brought in house these things become public.

I have no doubt agents are feeding numbers to friendly scoopers, there's no downside. Nobody has any reason to publicly say "Yea that's not accurate". That amount of money does not pass the smell test

Shams is probably the most highly regarded basketball reporter out there. He wouldn't report on something if he didn't feel good about his sources. His entire profession is predicated around having accurate sources and not reporting misinformation.

But sure, if you feel like that sounds too much then just assume he's lying.

You said 0 chance?

Maybe he is getting $2 million, maybe not, but it’s far greater than 0% chance he is

Every single time people lose their mind about how much an Iowa State player is supposedly making Blum refutes the amount stated. I'm comfortable assuming the same thing is true at scale here

1 million, 2 million, does it really matter at this point? They are paying huge NIL figures and they aren't any better than a collection of Division 2 and Juco players.

What i liked the most about Drakes win was that Hawkins actually had his best game (excluding 3/8 free throws). 15 pts, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and they still couldn't win at home. By the way, the Sturtz kid from Drake is fun to watch.

I know K State is supposedly "good in NIL" but are they really "have $2,000,000 to give to one basketball player" good? That's just hard to believe, that's blue blood money.
