We have some problems. Guards have no ability at all! Xfers are not contributing except Harris. Bill needs to cut the chaff - held over players are not working out! Seriously time to look at who has B12 skill and who doesnt

Thanks for the write up.

I guess it’s a lesson learned not to schedule these teams unless you are sure you have the horses. I feel like we got beat so bad that it’s hard to even learn anything from it.

On to Stillwater. Like you I’m a bit worried about the circumstances of us going on the road after such a defeat. We probably don’t have a lot of confidence, while OSU does even if they don’t deserve it.

I'm probably a minority of one, but this appears to me to be an 80% defensive problem. The womens game is getting more like the mens game: in your grill defense, challenge all three point shots, lateral speed, trap, help, rotate...

This team doesn't have the players to play this type of game.

I think Bill needs to retool like TJ did year 1 and find players that will buy into what is needed to set a defensive tone. Slow shooters that can't defend won't get it done.

Looking at what I wrote, it sounds harsh, but I think there is at least a grain of truth in it.

Make several valid points. The problem is the lack of players to recruit that fit that mold. Not near as plentiful as on the men’s side. But the most important point you make is about what TJ does…find players that fit the mold of what you want to do and then get their buy in.

Who is gone from last year’s team that changed this team so much?
Hannah Belanger was a nice, experienced player that seemed to be a good place to go with the ball when they needed to.

But I don't actually think the team changed that much. Last year's noncon we lost to Drake, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, and Iowa. So, we actually lost to much worse teams. I (or We) bought into the hype too much and thought we could hang with the big dogs. It turns out we can't.

All I can think of is Belanger who was always clutch to hit a 3 when the team needed it.

I think what’s happening is the freshman from last year haven’t taken the step forward yet.

We had issues last year but everyone saw the potential in Brown and Crooks with a year of development in them. Unfortunately, those same issues exist.

Personally, I thought AC would really improve her game after her first year and improve her defensive quickness. So far, she seems to have the same liabilities as last year. Though, her presence inside is just as good on offense.
