This has to be one of Bills least talented teams in decades. We have alot of girls that just don’t belong at this level
I don’t know what you’re talking about. There is a huge amount of talent on this roster. What there clearly isn’t is any type of development, or creating a system where that talent can succeed. This season so far is among the least competent coaching jobs I’ve ever seen at Iowa State.

Oh the coaching is awful too. No disagreement. We just have alot of girls that are average shooters, not athletic enough to get to the rim and can’t guard.

Yes, they might not be quite as talented, but, really, the head coach is the problem. players regress under his system. it is time for him and his entire staff to leave the program. Players regress under this program, think about when Danae fritz, Lexi denarski, and Emily Ryan arrived - they were better as frosh than as experienced players. players never stay the same, they either improve or get worse. and, in this case, his players regress. Jamie Pollard - this is on you.

There is clearly something amiss with this team; we all know that they are a better group of players than they have shown in the past month or so! I know I keep forgetting that this is a team of largely sophomores with 1 senior on the roster and a few juniors and freshmen. Yes, 3 of our starters are back from last year, but there have been a lot of new players to integrate into the new system. I was thinking this as I watched Heise, a top player at UNI only now hitting his stride on the men's team. It takes time and maybe the tough non-conference schedule was not the best idea. Hindsight is always 20:20 but I do wonder if 1) the top 5 non-con opposition got inside our lady's heads, and 2) we have not been able to give the bench players enough playing time to make the transition to P4 WBB. Just a thought. I am more sympathetic towards the ladies than many of the posters here seem to be; I am thinking the ladies are the ones feeling the pressure, and it has got to be hard for them. Just sayin'

Didn’t think there was any shot Bill would be on the hot seat this year. Certainly not on December. But if he doesn’t get it figured out, and you think you can keep some of what you got, clean house
Exactly. This is a team that won a game in the NCAA tourney a year ago, didn’t lose a lot, and had transfers and new recruits we were excited about. They were ranked #8 in the country just a few weeks ago. But they look so incoherent and like there is a huge disconnect between players. It’s jarring to see in comparison to the men’s program right now. You have two generational talents in Audi and Addy who are being wasted. They haven’t looked remotely competitive in their games against elite teams, threw away the game against Iowa, and played at the level of UNI and Drake rather than dominating them. A massive underachievement so far this year, and today is off to an ugly start. The trajectory is not promising.

Gonna find out what they are made of. If it wasn’t already, it’s definitely gut check time now.

I could tell we were in trouble a couple games into the season. I have repeatably stated we are slow, non athletic, guard play is bad, don’t value the basketball, very soft with the ball and our post play may be the slowest in the country. This is another example.
I am not sure how this gets fixed other than players getting older and hit the transfer portal.

We look like a bubble team to me.

As far as this game…keep it within 10 in the 4th and see what happens

Your last comment is scarily true sounding the way this looks. Second half will tell us something…I just hope it’s a good something.

There are sure a lot of really stupid comments on here today. I’d never say this is a good game, but geesh…dumb comments.
First of all, what are the dumb comments, I think all valid points made.

That said, time enough to rally and right the ship. But to not acknowledge coaching issues, development issues, etc is blindly carrying the torch for the head coach

My take is that Addie from Crooks, who knows their role? Even Brown doesn’t seem sure. I think it’s ok to wonder what happened.
