We’ve missed several open threes, ball movement hasn’t been that bad.
Right now the story is no one besides Audi is a consistent scoring threat, and Emily being second is not ideal at all. Everything comes second to that. People have looks, they just aren’t hitting consistently. Addy in particular is bemusing me with what’s going on with her. Ball movement isn’t fantastic, but it’s not nearly as bad as it’s been earlier in the year.

Anyone notice the team was at its best when Audi, Addy, and Ryan were not on the court together? They’re the best trio offensively, but it’s also a guaranteed bucket for the opponent defensively

They were not on the court together most of the game after the first quarter. Then out of a timeout down 3, Bill put them all back in again and Utah immediately hit back to back 3s

This game completely swung after the two straight missed wide open threes by Hansford and Tanke. Have to make those shots.
I thought at that point we should actually work it into Crooks and take the lead. Oh well. Not all that surprised based on the season so far.

I think they make it in the end, but they’re 11-6 and their biggest win is…Drake?

They have Elite 8 talent on the roster, but their resume as of now does not make the tournament. They are now behind the 8 ball and have to prove they’re worthy.

Is this really a thing?

I feel like when I see actual top ten level women's teams the talent disparity is very apparent compared to teams like ISU.

We’ll miss Ryan. What do we have coming in for guards? We need help in the guard court big time. Athleticism, kids that can defend and kids that can knock down shots.

Crooks had too many turnovers tonight and no one besides Ryan and Crooks was a threat. That’s the story tonight. As for missing the tournament…that’s ridiculous talk right now. Look at it in ten games.

We are 10-6 with zero signature wins (maybe 1 quality win?) and 50th in NET, it’s not “ridiculous talk” to think we might not make the tournament…

When I've caught women's games in the past few years there seemed to be some speed there to make up for size for both ends and I don't see that with this team.
Usually a slow team is a liability on the defensive end but sometimes it's not as noticeable on offense. This team looks slow even on the offensive end.

Such a disappointing season. The effort is there.

This has to be Bill’s last season right?
This team makeup is kind of polar opposites of the men’s squad (so far anyway). On paper seemingly good transfer adds. On court, either by lack of proper use by coaches or lack of talent, it’s not working.

Good example of how roster construction through the portal is so important. Makes what TJ has done more impressive.

I can’t believe how bad their 3 point shooting is

So true. Who will step up?

10-6 officially.

And yeah, realistically looking at prior years, you've probably got to get to 20 wins, maybe 19 to get in as an at large.

15 games left in the regular season. I think you need to at least win 9 of them (and if only that, get a win in the tournament) to get in. Torvik shows us as favorites in 9 remaining plus a tossup at Arizona. So its possible, but a slim margin (Torvik's predicted result is 18-13, which would likely not get a bid)

Honestly the more I look at it the more I talk myself into thinking its more likely than not they miss.

I really like Audi and she can really score, but she is NOT a good defender. The rest of the team needs to start switching EVERY screen and keep in front of our gals becuase as soon as there is a pick and roll, they are going around Audi with ease.

We did start switching screen there for a while and that worked a bit, then we went back to getting screened and totally abused at the rim with Audi taking up the space that she stands in.

I suppose the reduction in points would be a negative compared to the defensive lift we would get, but I'd like to see Audi sit a little more and Brown get the spotlight. I wonder if she couldn't score just as many if we were giving it to her and asking her to score every point. Add putting Joens in more for D and setting up a freaking shot for her on occasion. Brown should maybe NEVER pass to Audi again. Not only becuase she should be as dominate a scorer as Audi, but for some odd reason, she lacks ANY passing ability when it goes towards Audi. It is about a 50% chance its a turnover when its passed from Brown to Audi. Just stop that and take it to the hoop instead. I think we would have more

We have very few plays other than throw it to Audi. Oh, there is one alternate play, throw it toward Audi directly to the opposing player. That is even worse.

I'm hoping this gets better, but we are not a hard team to scout right now and things have to change a lot to have a chance at the NCAAs.

We held their star to half her average and were pretty even in shooting, rebounds, assists, foul and turnovers. They shot 50% from three and we shot a dismal 25%. Those threes, and Maye Toure, were the difference. Toure had some turnovers and a couple of missed bunnies but with Kneepkens stifled they needed someone to step up big and she did.

Players gotta make plays. Going into this season who would have thought we would have 2 sometimes 3 scoring options. Somebody other than Audi, Emily and Abbi need to score. Losing Hare was huge, Harris is the only other scoring threat and she is streaky and also not a defensive Specialist. AJ needs to score more.

Williams, Tanke, Hansford, Joens are all non existent.

Thus is a team that needs some ladies to step up. We are gonna lose close games with Audi really not able to play these kind of minutes, but no one else us or seems to want to score.

We had a few chances today to take, tie or extend a lead and we missed 3 pretty open 3's, Tanke, AJ and Handsford and Williams misses a wide open lay up. Need someone to step up. Addi is in a slump also, she seems to be struggling with consistency. Not sure who this team's vocal leader is, they need one.
