I like that the tweet mentioned "other" top programs and not just top programs. That means we are in the club!
We are literally watching ISU turn into one of the Blue-Bloods, IMO
YUP! And for any newer fans, I would go back and read old threads for days gone by wondering, can the magic come back, what's wrong with the student section, will we make the tournament (NCAA or NIT), etc.
Today we do seem worried about the urinals, but other than that sit back and enjoy media outlets having us as a potential final 4 team.
That's the weak point right now, and about lost us the game in Lubbock. Passing plays gotta sharpen up.
Ultimate complement. Brother (i.e. Boilermaker) texted me saying not only were we good, but were fun to watch. I think that'll make us a non-ISU fan favorite cause we are FUN!
Think the club is “closed” in a way for the historical UNC, Duke, KU, Kentuckys…UCLA and Indiana used to be but there’s another class of UConn, Villanova that I think ISU cos firmly in.
Who’s actually currently great, who has elite history and “Who is a blue blood” is an interesting combination imo.
I love that our style of play/attitudes travel. Nothing is going to shake these guys.
We need to win a championship before we are in that group or called a blue blood. WE are having a blue blood type year. However, If we flame out in the first 3 rounds, that is the difference. We need a title first.
Ya I was bitchin about Watson being wide open and not getting a pass on the cut. Then Gilbert made that turn over trying to pass to him. All the sudden Watson swats the crap out of the guy for taking his easy bucket. This team is so awesome.
Watson looked pretty big out there too.

We’ve got the blue collar. We need to win a title and make multiple Final 4s. If TJ is here 20 years and we stay on this clip, I like our chances. And that’s not hyperbole.
Perennial top 10 and a NC over the next 25 years of TJs career.
Blue blood is a tall order. The true blue bloods not only have the championships, they’ve done it over a sustained period of time.
I do think ISU can solidify itself in that next tier of schools that are consistently good and are a threat in the tournament, but not quite blue bloods. Think Arizona, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Florida, Villanova, Syracuse type schools.
Need some conference titles and F4 appearances to get to that point.
You need multiple titles to be a blue blood IMO. Or at least multiple final fours. Baylor isn't a blue blood. To me, the blue bloods are UK, KU, Duke, UNC, UCONN. Next level down is MSU, Zona, Zags, UCLA. We're probably at the next level which is Houston, Michigan, Florida, Baylor, Texas, Oregon, Louisville.
Stop the blue blood talk, you're gonna end up on Message Board Geniuses... Lol
And across multiple coaching regimes imo. Blue blood speaks to an institution itself inherently being at that high level.
