Curt Jones will be a pro next year if he keeps playing like this. Even then, we could potentially have all but three members of this roster back next year (excepting Curtis, Keshon, and Brandt). Those are three big sets of shoes to fill, but still a lot coming back!

I don't know why they felt the need to print this, other than attempting to demonize ISU, but I laughed at it.

From the KC Star:

Hilton Coliseum full (again)

Hilton Coliseum (14,267) was sold out for Wednesday’s game despite the fact second semester classes have not yet started.

The two teams will meet again on Feb. 3 at Allen Fieldhouse. A Big Monday game, it will tip at 8 p.m.

The students who did attend greeted the Jayhawks with chants of “(Bleep) KU” during pregame warmups.

Yeah...hmmm...seems odd? It seems like it could be a shot at another school if one wants to read into it a bit? (I am commenting on the "again" being part of the lead)

Another breakdown of some of the plays/sets ISU runs by Fran.

First one is a little variation of the Spain action, we’ve ran that multiple times this year with either Lipsey or KG on ball and one of the bigs and Curtis as the screeners but usually it’s with a guy in each corner, not overloaded to one side. Second is your standard gortat action (as it mentions) out of a horns set which you see some NBA teams run. We’ve done it a fair amount this year and I’m fairly confident Nate Schuster talk about when he was on kickin it earlier this week. Third (I’m not sure if this was an actual set play or not but )was a nice seal by Chat to open up a driving lane.

A lot of good three man actions which you are seeing a lot more of nowadays.

Usually you see self run some staggered screens up top to get his guys open but I don’t remember seeing any in the game.

Joshua Jefferson looks to me like he has pro potential already too (IMO, but what do I know?).

He took one early and missed it badly, then passed up other open looks.

He's 6-26 from deep on the season, including 0-8 in their last 6 games.

Maybe even more shockingly - he hasn't attempted a FT in the entire last 2 games.
This is unthinkable. How? He’s a big for KU. They get 4 FTs a game just because. This really highlights that he is allergic to physical play.

There is a really good freshman class incoming but I imagine we also portal in a guard and a big. What a great time to have a reputation for hitting homeruns on mid major guys looking to show out. We will have players reaching out to us a lot moving forward.

So W Virginia, Kansas, UCF, Arizona and Houston all on the road how many of those do you think we’ll win.

I think 3 of 5 would be good. 2 prob ok.

That's my thought. WVA and UCF for sure, Kansas and Houston are pretty good chances. Arizona would be great, but they look like the most daunting of the 5 at their place.

I think that Houston game going to be a pretty big ask....but who knows. Maybe Houston really can't score enough to win. Will find out.

Watched the replay of the game...what struck me was how sloppy it was on both sides. Kansas had mainly turnovers that were from our pressure, our turnovers seemed to be us trying to go for a highlight assist sometimes. Our turnovers were somewhat due to Kansas pressure, but we had a lot of empty possessions where if we are a little more patient / a little more focused on execution this could have easily been a 20+ point win for us. Watson seemed to play really well in his 10 or so minutes. Our def was great, we were in their face literally all night. We won the last few minutes of the 1st and 2nd halfs. Overall great win. We were just flat out better.

@Houston is probably the toughest game on our schedule until late march if we get there.

Like, on torvik @KU KU is favored by 1.1 and @Arizona Arizona is favored by 2.3. But Houston is favored by 9.4.

If we come out of there with a win it might be our most difficult win of the year aside from perhaps a F4\Championship win.

100%

I've said this several times - but he is primed for a HUGE leap next year. A bump in his 3pt rate and a focus to run the offense through him as Option 1A, I think he has a real chance to be in the Big XII player of the year running - and definitely pro potential - he has all the size and skills for the NBA
