So did Miami shift all of their NIL basketball money to football? They are really bad.

Does Drake have any chance at an at-large bid? Currently sitting at 17-2 right now with a very favorable schedule. They have Bradley at home and their toughest road game left looks like UNI.

They will need some help, I'm sure. They have no more scheduled Q1 games. Could pick up another in the conf tourney.
That Vandy win is looking better and better, though. Too bad K-State sucks so much. In most years thats going to be a Q1 win.

Probably not. Most likely need to win the valley to make it in. Unless the bubble is extremely weak this year.

I think for the MVC to get 2 bids, the top 2 teams have to distance themselves from the rest, then play each other for the conference tournament championship. This could be possible this year with Bradley and Drake. The ACC is terrible, Big East not great, so maybe a couple more at-large bids available this year.

Also doesn't help that Miami is a Quad 4 win. Nobody would've dreamed that at the time it occurred.

Drake is in the "can't afford bad losses" category, while (as you noted) little chance to boost profile.

If Drake sweeps Bradley, and has no other losses OTHER than to Bradley in MVC tournament final, there'd be bubble potential (always dependent on other teams in that zone + bid-stealing).

I thought it was asinine that our guy would hang onto the ball like that,” Self said.
That was a bonehead play. But what made it a bonehead play as much as anything ... when the whistle blows, you stop. And I’m sure they blew it several times,” Self said. “Cost us a possession, so yeah, I wasn’t happy to see it all".

They only have 2 total losses right now though. You don't think they would be a lock at something like 29-3?

I'm assessing based on Quad stats and a little bit of devil's advocate. That type of record and the profile ought to be strong contender, but it's a weird situation that its non-con "big wins" are becoming a bit "meh," and depth of MVC is limited.

Also, I'm viewing it more as being "safer side" of bubble territory.

Yep. They can survive a loss to Bradley and MAYBE at UNI but that's it and even then they'd probably need some help.

I think they end up like 15-5 at best so it doesn't matter anyway. Those legs aren't going to make it another six weeks.
