While he is not never going to be the main cog in this team winning or losing, very worried about Jackson and his presence on the court being a net negative. Clogs the lane, not a confident post presence, defense/ rebounding can be shaky. Not like we have a ton of alternatives but already seeing his minutes dip. We could really use him playing better right now else might as well go small with Watson for athleticism.
The transfers except Jefferson are looking like misses right now.

Yeah, him and Chatfield seem to be getting exponentially worse the deeper we get into conference play. They are both contributing nothing out there.

1st of all...Thomasrickj needs to chill out or, if his mommy won't give him a timeout, the mods should...
2ndly...if we're going to have a bad stretch in this season, better to have it now and get our mojo back in the back half of the season.
3rdly...People who think that Milan being out isn't really that big of an issue, don't understand how teams are adjusting to defend us without him in there. My guess is when he gets back, that way teams are now defending us now will not work near as well with Mom back in the lineup.

Even if we get beat at Kansas, the ship starts to get righted. Still much to play for!

Did we just let Arizona beat us twice?

I went ice fishing for the 2nd half but after the big lead after about 5 minutes into the game imo ISU had kind of a 'there, we fixed it' vibe.

Obviously they need to figure out a whole bunch of stuff.

They really didn't look good after that anywhere.

Add in KSU figuring things out and it's a terrible deal.

The ISU coaching staff continues to be poor at breaking the opponent's momentum. Between the first and second half, it took ISU nearly 12 game minutes to get from 33 to 43 (hit 33 at 3:10 remaining in the first half and hit 43 with 11:41 remaining in the second half). Over that same time period, KSU went from 28 to 58. That's nuts. There was a whole half-time break in there to regroup. And then to top that, another scoring drought at the end of the game. On your home court nonetheless.

ISU is more talented than that from a player standpoint. This is a genuine pull-head-out-of-arse issue for the coaching staff. They need to figure it out.

I thought they looked pretty bad right away in November. They definitely look better on offense but I'm starting to wonder if it's a net loss from how bad they are on D compared to BRE/Ward.

I think the communication hasn't been there about all season which is what BRE excelled at and it's very underappreciated.

Not counting the UCF game at home, we have scored 23, 9, 8, 27, and 10 points under our season average going back to KU at home with Milan being out.

TJ must figure out something else to consistently get this team points.

Chat was a bad addition. Jackson is trending that way.
Chat I have more leniency with because don’t think he was even intended to play this much and contribute much more than energy and toughness in small spurts. He did that so well for a couple games, injury, and bad post play resulted in him getting more minutes and being exposed.

I will never understand why Nate Heise plays as much as he does or why we even recruited him. He plays starter minutes and is averaging approximately 0 points and 2 inexplicable turnovers a game.
Heise has left a lot to be desired, he seems almost afraid to shoot the ball under the basket, good defense but not great, and brings nothing to the game offensively. Much rather see Watson get those minutes than him. Outside of a game or two, when he hit some shots, he really is not adding much to the team.

He was so good at all the little things that help win games. He was rarely out of position and could guard out on the perimeter as good as a guard.

Chatfield and Jackson just don't have that ability.

I mean we’re gonna drop to a 2 seed now but can play in for a 1. NEED to win Monday

Unless KSU ends up in the NIT (I think they have the guys, no idea how their start was so bad) this loss will look really bad.
