Our 3 attempts were primarily on the dribble & contested step backs. We only had a couple catch & shoots, but missed them tonight. But to me it doesn't appear we have many catch & shoot opportunities to begin with. Dribble drive & kick, but that's been too easy for teams to defend. KU's came a lot from their bigs going inside-out or across the court, by design. We do not seem to have many by design. The probability of a shooter making a 3 doubles if they are receiving it after a pass down low & all they are doing is stepping into the pass, catching & shooting. This is why our structure on offense leads to nights like tonight & WV. Passes are faster & more difficult to close out versus when a player puts the ball on the floor, which we do far too much of. Just my opinionWe'd have more assists if we made shots.
