I don’t love Vitale as a broadcaster. But with what all he does off the court I just can’t hate on him. He’s used his position for good in the fight against cancer. I’d like him to retire, but I’m not going to jump all over him for taking advantage of ESPN giving him the opportunity.
What has he done? More attention seeking?

1. Why do ESPN games take so long?

Gotta make back what they're spending on the SEC. For MBB, ESPN timeouts average around 3:05, while CBS clocks in at 2:30.

Also, the listed start time is never the actual start time.
11:00 games usually tip at 11:02, 1:00 games at 1:05, 3:00 games at 3:05-3:10...etc. The "8:00" Big Monday game rarely starts before 8:05, and can be as late as 8:15.

Networks also have an option to bump the start of the next game back as much as 5 minutes, which happens a lot on Saturdays.

Wonder if the NCAA could standardize TO lengths? Seems having more or less time would actually affect the game with how much rest guys get. But it’s really annoying that you never see the start of games anymore.

I feel like there's more 'would be shocking if they lost in the first round of March Madness' level teams this season than the last few.

I feel like this every year though. When you get in conference play there’s a tendency to have a common style and the team with the better execution of that style will win often. In the tournament, those styles conflict and upsets happen as a result. Conferences like the Big12 that have very physical guard play can lose to a team that has fast guards if the refs force hands off.

Add in a hot 3 point shooting team and anything can happen.

Tech at Arizona. Late start, IMO no team from the central time zone should be tipping off at 10:09 pm. That gives Arizona an advantage.

At some point a Big12 coach just needs to put his players in shoulder pads for some of these games. Refs are letting anything go in this TTU UA game.

Next weekend could be #1 vs #2 if Alabama wins
That has never happened in football! Alabama and Auburn have both been undefeated twice - when they met in football (1971 and 1994), but they were not ranked #01 and #02 in either year. They have both become MBB schools.

Its an advantage, but I don't see it changing. Part of the value of inviting Arizona\ASU was getting into later tv windows, so this was part of the deal

I’d be more concerned about the travel and especially getting home at 5am. College kids have no trouble staying up late. They’d probably be playing pick up right now if they didn’t have a game scheduled.

are you sure about that. I logged on to You Tube tv and it kept getting delayed. It finally settled on the tip time of 10:09 central time.
