Has there by any talk about Bennett? Is he done coaching college hoops or was it a case of burnout and maybe he returns?
Great question. I think he’s done but CyCity would have a better feel.

I mean it doesn’t take much to be smarter than Barta. But I’m not sure what she’s done to make people think she’s some genius.
I guess my point is, I think Iowa WILL hire a good coach...they have a lot of money and I think it's naive to think otherwise

Why? They could hire someone good. But hiring is pretty much a crapshoot.

They have a lot of money? How so? Sure they have higher revenues but astronomical expenses. Their net is so great the AD had to get loans from the university to which they still haven’t repaid.

Unless Iowa commits to SIGNIFICANTLY increasing it's NIL, why would a coach like DeVries leave a well funded program like WV?

I’ve heard West Virginia also has some pretty great basketball facilities. Does Iowa have anything like that?

I think Iowa will promise an increase in NIL but many are questioning how they will sustain it. If DeVries takes it, great. But it’ll impact his longevity there. DeVries and WVU spent big time last year and still struggled to win and it wasn’t all about injuries.

They actually had a pretty good year despite having a lot of injuries.

No, not really.

TJ knew Prohm was not long for ISU one way or another and he was next in line. Prohm would have had to have won the conference outright, and then maybe advance to an Elite 8 for the TJ ball to stop rolling. Just a matter of when.....not if.

DeVries has known this about Fran as well. And he wants to be back in Iowa. Does that mean he gets the job..........I have no idea about that. Do not follow that school close enough but I would say if Iowa and WVU can work the numbers........he'll be a Hawkeye.

Would expect the Iowa AD has promises from booster's about future NIL funding for the men's basketball program. Plus she probably has some flexibility in-house related to the House Settlement how it will be split between FB, MBB & WB.

Also with Hawkeye WBB still riding a high from the Clarke era, IMO Goetz needs to resurrect the MBB program from a fan interest/booster support to maximize revenue across both sports.

Fran only made 7 tourneys? Did I see that right? They really weren't ever very good.
