So are we going to get at least 1 game off the big, mighty Dodgers this trip?

Unrelated but just hearing Tucker is 1-31 in the Spring. That’s wild. Hope it’s something that gets fixed in season
Hopefully just saving them for the regular season but my pessimistic Cubs fan side tells me he will stink with the Cubs this year, leave in Free Agency and Cam Smith will turn out to be a stud.

On the road...
Great AB's from Dansby and Miggy to get the scoring started. Yamamoto has some insanely nasty stuff.

Yamamoto has a filthy slider. Felt like Shota got pinched on a few pitches that may have been strikes.

Wheels have fallen off now with Brown pitching.

Brown has not located his pitches well. Doubt he comes out for the next inning. He was in the mix for the 5th spot in the rotation so I'm sure Craig was hoping to piggy back him in this one for multiple innings.

Brown just had trouble being constant through the entire AB. You saw the dominant pitches but too many non competitive pitches when he got ahead. Usually his fastballs.

Yea. Brown's control was pretty sketchy. Hope it was early season rust & maybe jitters. But if this is closer to normal, he'll have a tough time being a 5th starter.

Other concern are throwing errors by Shaw & Berti. Shaw's was ugly. Hope they are throws of guys trying to do too much on opening day.

Need the bats to wake up.

It’s Opening Day and it’s the Dodgers, but this feels familiar. A little early offense with no offense in the back half of the game, bullpen giving up runs, defensive issues…
Felt like your favorite hoody on a cold day. Very comfortable;)

3 Up
1) Matt Shaw is already the best 3B in the Hoyer era
2) Dansby looked good
3) Pitching didn’t give up much hard contact

3 Down
1) Pitchers walked everybody
2) Berti is dog ****. Pay mid, get mid.
3) Bats did not adjust well to the splitter at all

I dont get into baseball fully until March Madness is over, but this has the makings of another 82 win team. Hopefully Jed is finished.

Lets hope Hoerner will be ready for the US Opening Day.
