The worst part of that is Paniro actually was active. That kid could/should have been hit for stalling multiple times. PJ just couldn't finish.

NOW lets just hope he doesn't check out and can make a backside run.

Ugh, I just knew that reversed takedown was bad news. FWIW, I think it was technically the correct call although looked to me like Paniro saw the 3 awarded and didn't fight to improve and more or less cut him. Then the deflating fact it got overturned.

Gotta learn how to fight through a little adversity like that though.

The officiating was terrible. There should have been at least 1 stall call in the first. The TD shouldn't have been reversed. This match should have never went to OT. Now OT on, that was not good from Paniro but that was on the officiating.
Tough match. Terrible loss that kid isn't doing anything.

Hope everyone that was talking about how Casey leaving was going to be okay because we have P can shut up now. This is Paniro and always will be. Give me Casey a million times over. That kid at least scraps EVERY match.
Even at his best, PJ is winning 3-1 over mediocre opponents. He's not getting you bonus points, and he's leaving himself open to this **** every single match.

Sorry to be an ass, but I don’t feel bad for him at all. Can’t just keep doing the same thing and expect to win at nationals.
I don't disagree with you there. Just didn't feel like more of the same until late in the match, and he wasn't rewarded enough by the official for his 10-1 shot advantage and the kid just keeping both hands on the mat from neutral. Def still got a normal dose of classic Panior though. So frustrating

Didn't watch it but getting mixed reviews. Some give the feeling of carr losing to the orst kid the year he got 3rd(ref won't call stalling). Some giving the classic paniro did nothing 3rd period vibe.

They have to move on from Paniro. Get someone that has some fight in them

Paniro was 100% the aggressor! Officiating from match to match is a joke.
In the NCAA tournament it is classic every year let everyone stall in the early rounds. Carr in the Championship last year got hit what 3 times. If that's the first round maybe one time he gets hit.

This wasn’t close to the Carr match vs Oregon state kid in rd of 16, that should have been called stalling by a blind man.

PJ was clearly more aggressive but it’s such a typical match for him, makes it too easy to be critical.

I thought Paniro wrestled good. That is the problem with folkstyle. That is a tech in folk. Guy does nothing basically for 10 minutes and steals a win.

Paniro rushed his finishes. Had so many opportunities, but just rushed them. That said I though he had 3 on that cradle finish that was overturned.

Pinero is really hard to watch. He is the wrestling version of Iowa football. Play down to your opponents and try to win in at the end. It's gonna eventually bite you and it just did.
