Well the ending of the third episode I sure didn’t expect. Brutal
That was a big woah! for me too. Considering the hints they've been dropping in the show, plus the trailer, you knew he was coming. However, easiest guess is that wasn't actually him.

They've addressed it in the comics before and even the comic writers have mentioned it in real life, but police rocking the Punisher symbol clearly don't understand who the Punisher actually is and what he stands for.

Have not watched episode 3 yet, trying to avoid your spoilers. My last post got edited for diving into the Cave. But I'm finding the Fisk as Mayor storyline to be interesting... Half the city hates him and half the city loves him. Even in the MCU politics is polarizing.... Hope this doesn't get edited again...

Ok, seeing Daredevil reviews, but I haven't watched the original Netflix run. Do I start there, and add all the Punisher, before moving to the new series? For the record I won't watch Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and et al.

Its your call. I think you could be okay just starting in now and taking it for what it is, but yes, watching all of those would add a decent amount of context. They are all really good too, except Punisher S2 in my opinion. If you want the full Daredevil throughput storyline, you would also add in the Defenders series as well, but that show was so-so. But yes, I think you are okay skipping Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

There are recap videos if all you care about is getting backstory understanding. However, the recaps don't always do the character development justice. Almost all of it is worth a watch if you have the time.

Thing was, they wrote and filmed all of this a while ago. It's more coincidence to current events than anything. Plus some of this story line is pulled from the comics from quite a few years ago. It may just be a case of art imitating life imitating art imitating life.

A little context doesn't hurt, but I don't feel like it is totally necessary. I'm watching the new series while doing a simultaneous rewatch of the Netflix DD and through 8 episodes can't say it contributes a whole lot to the understanding of the new series once you know who the main characters and relationships are.

I’m absolutely loving Daredevil: Born Again. The tight focus on Matt and the Kingpin is what’s really putting it above the original series.

My only complaint are the little “bb files” segments. Those detract from the show but luckily they’re quick and relatively infrequent.

I agree with BB complaint. I get what they are trying to do with it, but it just isn't working so far.

That fight scene at the end of Episode 6 was great. They have done a good job of keeping the feel of the original series. I wish Foggy would have been a bigger part because I like that actors vibe in the show.

I’m the opposite, I hated Foggy and was glad to see him go. Less so with Karen but can completely understand needing to cut her out if they’re going down this storyline.

Fight scene was great. Kind of cracked me up that Matt was able to resuscitate a person with chest compressions when they had just bled out but whatever-it’s a tv show.

Haha, talk about total mixed opinions. Throw me into the group that loves Foggy and doesn't really like Karen.
