Credit to those watching relatively fresh off a Cyclone exit. Watching would make me sad

Loyola Marymount has been in two Sweet Sixteens. They scored 75 in 1961 and 62 in 1990 (same year they scored 149 against Michigan)
Ironically, the 62 in 1990 was vs. Alabama in a 62-60 win for the Lions! The Tide played the game to their tempo, but the Lions were still good enough to win. That I knew.

What I looked up is that the 62 points snapped a streak of 12 straight games that Loyola Marymount had scored 100 points or more. That was a fun, fun LMU team!

Loyola Marymount did what Alabama is doing tonight almost every single game that season. They were super amazing.

114 by Arizona in 1976.

Most since 1985 is Oklahoma with 108 in 1988.
Arizona did in 1976 without the three point play!

I honestly don't remember when they made that switch but it was sometime in the 1980s. So, the 1988 OU game could have been with or without the three point line? I do remember that some conferences played with the three point line and some didn't and some played with the shot clock and some didn't for a few years before both were adopted nationally.

What say you @HoopsTournament?
