Ha I mean you can move the goalpost to blame it on whatever you want. Sure, go for age as an excuse. Offensive schemes aren't unlocked like some sort of prize once you reach a certain age or experience level of coaching. They have entire staffs to work on these things. I'm sure TJ would admit himself that they needed to be better in the halfcourt offense.
Suggesting they need to improve the halfcourt offense isn't a hater take - it's honest. It's ok to say things need to get better. You can in-fact still be a fan, and understand not everything is rainbows and butterflies.
I'm not sure how it's an excuse to bring up the fact that Scheyer and Golden are the first coaches in 11 years to make the Final Four within their first three seasons (and Kevin Ollie was a total anomaly). I'm not suggesting anything is an achievement one unlocks by staying employed, but if we think Otz is a good coach, one of the major differentiators between good coaches and bad coaches is an aptitude for self-criticism and an ability to develop. I think he's capable of improving, not only in what he does but also what he instructs his coaches to do and teach, and in whom he hires if he decides a change is needed. So hopefully he improves, but that takes time. I'm not saying no one can be honest. The program needs to solve the late-season slumps. The half-court sets could be better at times. Though I can't get on board with how much that riles some posters (not you) up. It's a fact that for most of the second half of the season the staff did not have the weapons or the full use of the weapons it thought it would have coming into the season. If one thinks bringing in *insert most respected offensive mind* would've solved their issues, fine. I completely disagree
No I’m not a troll. You are seeing how NIL is quickly evolving and has evolved more even in the past year. It’s going to continue to evolve for the worse.
I wasn't calling you a troll, but declaring Sweet Sixteens the program's ceiling after two straight seasons of being one of the 12 best teams seems arbitrary. Similarly premature would be making straight-line projections about NIL (or anything else in life, for that matter), which, some time this year, won't even exist in its current iteration
