It would be boomer and millennials in the finals, gen x is a distant third. Kobe is so ******* overrated he’s the best inefficient shot chucker ever but he WAS an inefficient shot chucker. Hes one of the worst players in this graphic. Yes the gen x frontcourt would be dominant but the space and pace of the millennial generation combined with elite passing would crush them. Allen iverson is literally just an above average combo guard in today’s league, he is the inspiration for so much of that obviously but his size, defense, and outside shooting leaves a lot to be desired

I remember when Oden already had old man knees, ran slow like an old man, struggled to score in the Big Ten, missed half his college season with those knees, and then told an interview his real passion was to be a dentist and basketball wasn't very important to him.

...and the consensus among GMs was this guy was better than Durant.

I thought being an NBA GM must be the easiest best paying job in the world because I was 100% sure Oden was a bust and Durant was most can't miss since LeBron easily.
No one can convince me that Oden was any younger than 40 when he was at Ohio State.

I couldn't believe it.

It was like here is this old man who can barely walk, ok yeah he's big but he struggled to score at times in Big Ten play. Then over here is this young kid with pogo sticks for legs that releases his three point shot about 10 feet in the air and scores 30 points without even breaking a sweat. Weirdest draft evaluation ever by far.

Kareem IMO is the best 5 ever.

I think too much of the talk is about how older players might struggle in modern era when there are a few players that might have been MUCH better had they grown up in the modern era.

Jerry West and Pete Maravich (especially if healthy) with a 3 point line...those two were before my time but when you see footage of them it's more like they are modern players dropped into a past era. You can compare players like that to the shooters of their own era and when they are drastically better taking drastically more difficult and deep shots, you know they just had it. Maravich averaged 31 in his last healthy NBA season as an outside shooter with no 3 point line. He also passed the ball and pushed tempo in a way that really wouldn't be seen again until maybe Magic or Nash.

I do t remember of Oden was consensus or just the Blazers. KD got knocked a lot about how weak he was, but he was so good in college. Dude shot over 40% from 3. Durant seemed unreal in college.

West, Maravich, Bird were all in the wrong era and should be playing today. Magic didn’t have the perimeter shooting, but with spacing he could play with in todays game, he might average 20 apg.
