I think Audi needs to become a much more balanced player. Hopefully the team USA experience will inspire her to improve some of the weaker parts of her game. I personally think CBF needs to demand more of her for her to make significant improvement. I think she is really gifted athleticly for her size.

Yeah,.....winning sucks.

Go get 30 and lose,.....I will be so much more satisfied.

12th best out of 12 doesn't play on most rosters, especially in a competitive game. See Hali in Olympics.

Emily Potter, 6'-5" and 12th gal on Canada squad did not play either. It's been pretty clear Crooks was the 12th gal as things moved along in the tourney. I didn't think she would make the 12 so even getting on the squad was good from my take.

Will be interesting to see how the USA plays Kamilla Cardoso and the Fever's Damiris Dantas on Sunday in the champ game. Been a lot of small ball, or so it seems, for both USA and opponents in games leading to Sunday. Can Edwards and Stuekle manage Cardoso/Dantas without pulling Beers into the game for more minutes?

Not sure I understand. Are you agreeing with me that Audi needs to improve parts of her game or disagreeing?

I get that you want everyone to improve ... but Audi is on pace to break Ashley Joens' scoring record in 4 seasons (to Joens' 5). She'll end up a top 5 rebounder without breaking a sweat either, and she'll probably end up setting all-time wins marks as well.

She's on pace to be the best WBB player Iowa State has ever had, so maybe show a LITTLE respect to Audi's name.

Audi is a very gifted athlete and basketball player. She is likely not playing on team USA due to her limitations on defense. If she doesn’t improve on defense, we can expect this year’s Cyclone team will have similar results to last year’s team. A first round exit with the talent we have is not good enough in my opinion. I 100% believe Audi has the talent to play solid defense. You can see her gifted feet on offense. That will allow her to play solid defense too. Everyone on this team needs to improve their game unless you are happy with mediocre results. That improvement has to start with your best players. You can love or hate our coaching staff, but they need to help her with that part of her game. I very much respect Audi as a person and a player but I think she has so much untapped potential.

Fortunately they have improved year to year. I expect the same this year.

The Fevers reserve center is having quite a tournament. Already as 20 points tonight. Guess with Brazil's size they played Beers but she only played five minutes and got 4 fouls trying to guard the Brazil bigs.

Did Beers start?

it's good, but you'd better temper your expectations, most players excel on one side of the court or the other and Audi's strength is dominant offense. some of their defensive problems are because Coach values more offense to adding stronger defensive players to flush out the roster. the poor defense is a roster problem, not an Audi problem, and I think it's a problem Bill thinks can be overcome if they get slightly better D and the offense hits it's full potential. Maybe they can, Bill's been right before.
