Nebraska gives Scott Frost much deserved extension to only fire him.

Going to the big ten was not a good move for them (outside of current money). I think it would have been easier to rebuild in the b12 due to history and location. If they stayed, I think the b12 wouldn’t have blown up as much.
I generally agree.

That being said, Nebraska has always had a hard time realizing who they are and (more importantly) where they are.

They had Bo Pelini, a hard-nosed, physical, run-first coach... in Mike Leach's Big 12.

They had Mike Riley and Scott Frost, two pass-first, Pac12 guys while they were in the Big Ten.

They literally had the opposite coaches of what they should have in both cases. They had a square peg when it was a round hole, and then a round peg when it was a square hole. That being said, I think they finally have a run-first, physical coach in the B1G.

Wisconsin is going thru this right now too.

100%. What could have stabilized college sports in 2009 (even beyond the Big 12) would have been the Big 12 staying in its original form, Notre Dame and Delaney's eastern desires going B1G, BYU going P12, etc. 1752071684076.png

Not exactly sure.

They are kinda the same spot Nebraska was 15-20 years ago. Have their old historic coach still lingering around. He was replaced by a staff member who had decent success, but not enough (was a doucher though) and then the old coach seems to push for random, strange hires.

I think we could have stomached A&M leaving if Mizzou and CU stick around. Replace with TCU and called it good (have to have 4 Texas schools you know).

A&M to the SEC wrecked Texas recruiting for the B12, opening up DFW and Houston to SEC schools. Players who once went to Oklahoma State, Baylor or Tech were now going to Ole Miss, Auburn or Arkansas.

And you noticed that going to the SEC didn’t open up recruiting for A and M. I hope the Texas Big 12 schools can outspend the shorthorns and Aggies for the next 20 years.

Wife took kids back to Orlando

Those have all been said to me by friends in Omaha.
When he was at UNI, female student interns and staffers were told not to be in a room alone with him or Chinander so all of that completely tracks.

I’ve heard the same, and have no reason to believe it’s untrue, but stories like these have been popping up in Nebraska for every departing coach since Solich. Like, suspiciously similar.

There was always a lot of rumors regarding Carl Pelini.

Some of the alcohol issues go all the way back to the Bob Devaney days. Rumors were that his staff liked to drink pretty heavily at various outings.
