Dammit, @MeanDean, I will be thinking of 1975 all the rest of the evening.

And, back in the Olden Days when they used to translate songs, this one from Dave (look out when we get to 1977 and 1978...)

My own rule is it has to be an album you own. ;)

@Mead For My Horses grabbed Born to Run so that leaves me with Dylan. Will have to think if I have more 1975 albums, I was pretty broke that year.

Edit: Always reminds me of poker night at 203 Campus, the cockroach infested apartment we lived in. Man, I cannot believe that POS building is still standing 50 years later. Was nickel dime poker with wild games with crazy names like "Roll Out the Barrow". "The Works" and "General Filter" (local company). All with beer and smokes for El Kabong our apartment bong. This was get lightly stoned, have funny with crazy rules poker and listen to music.

Even without referencing the title track and “the biggie,” it’s a solid LP. I was going to leave title track AND “the biggie” to others, but I’m using the latter, I’m feeling selfish at the moment. :)

Some elements of this could be a hit TODAY:

1975: Horses - Patti Smith

Just an all-around important album for the branch of modern rock-and-roll that I love the most. To a certain type of degenerate the opening lines to the “cover” of Gloria that opens the album might be the most iconic of that decade, if not all time.

John Cale producing and even Tom Verlaine playing on a track, both of whom were huge influences on me as well.

Bonus track because, hey, Tom Verlaine:
