He's been friendly since TJ, but you must not be very old or have a bad memory
The fun the thing about social media is you can easily search anytime he has mentioned Iowa state and/or cyclones in 2 minutes. I couldn’t even find one negative thing he said about us in Prohm’s last years and we were quite literally one of the worst programs in the country. I stopped scrolling after 2019.

He is known sunshine and rainbow pumper. He will rarely ever trash a coach or a team to not ruin a relationship.

I swear our fanbase can be so soft.

Like I said, young. Social media. You can also berate a team with rankings and such without saying they suck.

If you like him great, I like many other national media members better. But if he's such a sunshine pumper, why doesn't he have one of his lame slogans yet for a team that has went to 4 straight tournaments and 2 sweet sixteens in the last 4 years? Because he's either not that cleaver, doesn't like us, or doesn't think his cleaver slogans will sell on a tee-shirt to ISU fan base.

Regardless of the reason, I don't like him. If you do, good for you, but you don't have to call out an entire fan base because you think he is impartial and by golly just a great guy with his sunshine pumping.

Many things are often true at once. Our fanbase is soft and dorky as hell. Rothstein also is not sunshine pumper for and does not sunshine pump about Iowa State. He’s very much been snarky and dismissive specifically towards Iowa State dating back to Freddy’s years. This is pretty obvious. Interviews, mentions from podcasts, etc. Sure, he seems to like TJ as a coach. And no, you’re obviously not going to find these exact instances searching through social media. Honestly that’s about one of the least effective ways to find ‘find’ proof in these types of situations, as social media entities are obviously not hubs for infinite amounts of video and audio recordings and their searches are not scraping an infinite amount audio recordings that aren’t stored on (or created by) their systems/servers. Maybe if AI really takes off…

You’re completely correct.

You can dislike whoever you want. I can also laugh at you for thinking we are being berated by a ranking and for typing out an entire paragraph complaining about not getting a catchphrase from a reporter.

Also, there are people ages 10-90 that use social media. Unless you’re older than the sun, it can be for everyone.

You’re kind of making my point.

Are there any examples of this dismissive and snarky attitude towards Iowa State? Can you find him doing this toward any program? I’m the kind of guy that likes proof, evidence, and facts before I bury someone or hate them.

I’ll admit I am wrong if you can provide some. Thanks in advance

Sounds good pal. I figured you’d have nothing.

Keep punching air and being annoyed over imaginary slights by a reporter who famously never rocks the boat against any program.

Only reason I get annoyed at Rothstein is because he notoriously will mention another team losing/not playing well instead of Iowa State winning and playing well. I always catch it. I wouldn’t be shocked if he did this for other teams as well though, but it still makes me roll my eyes.

Careful clubcy will correct you and tell you to provide proof. This obviously doesn't happen and you are soft.

This was sarcasm in case you were unsure

Oh I got the sarcasm. And I’m fairly sure it happened after the Texas Tech game last year. I’m not gonna go back and find it either lol
