The last thing the B12 needs is another commuter school with a trash off-campus football stadium/

I was pounding the drum for BYU the minute Nebraska was sniffing around 15 years ago so I'm not against expansion when I think the program can add a lot of new value, but I think we'd be pretty crazy to add anybody for football now until the ACC situation becomes fractured or cemented.

UConn/Gonzaga for basketball only is a mixed bag but it makes more sense than adding any of the readily available football schools out there.

Duh!
Don’t know how it is at Minn, but at ISU if you’re a student that enters the ticket lottery and doesn’t get selected, that’d be a double blow to have to pay for facilities and still not get to buy tickets to go to the games.
Isn't the lottery for Freshman only? Your point still stands, but may have a more limited impact.

No Basketball only schools. they would have an unfair advantage in spending.

If the SCORE bill gets passed in Congress, any school earning over $50M/yr in media revenues cannot apply student fees to athletic funding.
They need to push that to 75MM thats basically the BIG and SEC. A nominal student fee would catch us up the the big boys an create a more level field. not perfect but it's something.

Yes, and only for all sports (which is really just MBB). I believe at least in recent years all students that request get FB tix. The lottery is for those that want all sports. Although I believe they get in free to everything outside of FB and MBB, so saying all sports is really making it more than it is.

Hard to picture Cal and Stanford getting left in the lurch. UNC to the SEC actually helps my dream of NCST to the XII. I don’t see the SEC taking both, and NCST doesn’t seem like a B1G target.

NCSt's ag and research area screams Big 12 to me.

I was watching Finebaum a while back and there seemed to be a consensus among him and many of his callers that NC State was a much better fit for the SEC than UNC, which they consider non-football academic snobs.

Absolutely so. The vibe at UNC and Duke are hoity toity. NCST people just seem much more down to earth in my anecdotal experience.

NC State is my 2nd favorite college, as I used to visit a plant outside Raleigh all of the time. There were many NCST grads working there.
