NEWSFLASH: They haven't found the wasps yet.
"The nest had a radiation level 10 times what is allowed by federal regulations, officials said."

I knew there were about thirty quadzillion federal regulations, but I would never have guessed there was one covering allowed wasp nest radiation levels.

I agree with the authors that I think officials should be a little more concerned with finding the source of the radioactivity. It could be a signal for a more significant problem.
