Interesting note - Cowboy RTC is wrestling china in a dual tonight and Swiderski is wrestling 74kg, Lockett is wrestling 79kg and Facundo is wrestling 86kg. I’d guess this means that Casey will be wrestling off for the 157 spot, which has long been talked about here and him growing into that weight
Thatd make sense for them, then wrestle Vega/Hughes at 141 and bump Jamison to 149.

I agree it makes the most sense from a lineup perspective, and I’ve long advocated on this board that Casey had the frame to be a 57 or even 65.

Regardless of where he goes, I’m very interested to see him against ISU.

Anyone know if this dual will be streamed anywhere?

I don't think I'd read too much into this as far as the college season goes, which is still 3+ months away. I don't disagree that he could handle 157 but 149 isn't much of a stretch even if they give a 2 kg allowance. I think Jacob Frost would be at 74kg if had to step on a scale today just sayin

You’re absolutely right, I still wouldn’t rule out 149 either. I’m just looking into that and thinking about the log jam they have at 141/149 and think growing into 157 might have been their plan with him wrestling at 74kg now. Jamison clearly needs to go up to 149 and Robideau can redshirt. Casey either has to beat Jamison at 149 or Teague Travis at 157

The US is incredibly deep. Everyone used to talk about Russians depth, and they have depth no doubt, but our younger guys are mostly focused on folkstyle. Most of these guys were 2024 Olympians and they lost every match but one. If the Olympics allowed 2 or 3 representatives per weight class per country, our depth would be right there or better than Russia, Japan, and Iran

Japan’s depth is not that good at all.

Russia’s depth has been hurt tremendously by the international transfers. There will be a bunch of Russian transfers that medal this year for other countries.

the US has lost some transfers as well. I think that Rivera and Gomez would be a solid bet to make the US team this year. I don’t think RBY has a chance to beat Spencer, but he’d be right there with Lilledahl.

This may be a bit too unrealistic, but imagine if Dresser throws this curveball against OSU. We’ve seen Dresser bump guys up for duals before.

133- Osmany (who has a win over Figs in Freestyle)
141- Evan Frost
149- AE
157- Jacob Frost
165- Zerban.

osmany went toe to toe with davino at 133. he was a shell at 125 he could be killer at 133 if he dials in some of his dicipline.
