streets in our neighborhood are being torn up to repair some sections. At 7am, you can hear a jackhammer and dump trucks being loaded with concrete pieces. I'm up plenty early, but the kids won't be sleeping in this week.

Flies killed in the house this morning clocked in at nine kills. Weird stuff, man. Have not opened a door yet today. So, got be hatching somewhere indoors. Not in garbage, that's only four days worth in the trash. Not in sink or disposal. Even checked the dryer vent because a chipmunk out into the venting years ago and died in there.

Bathroom vents?
I was standing on a neighbor's porch last week and was stung by two bees. They were crawling in and out of the base of a post on the porch. I went to another neighbor's house after that and they had bees crawling in and out of the base of a post.

You found the bee's wormhole portals. They are transporting between porches through the post wormhole.

We are four houses up from a fairly main road for Marion/CR standards that has been closed for a couple of weeks now doing the same thing. It has turned our road into a bit of a cul de sac though though which is nice.

Managed to get two itchy bug bites somewhere this weekend. Red spot about the size of a nickel. One on each thigh. Weird, I wore long pants while doing yardly work this weekend since it wasn't hot so was cover up.

Not exactly sure.
Well, kinda got the explanation for the expensive letter. Apparently Amazon has been sticking packages in mailboxes. USPS got mad that they aren’t using them as much since their own vans have shown up in our area.

Therefore, post offices are taking those packages, marking postage due on them and then billing the recipient.

Fun part here, not an Amazon package but one directly through USPS. They assume mine got mixed in with the amazons and improperly hit. The last step is they are going to find out why I was charged that but there will be no refund.

If true, the legality of this practice is highly questionable. Postage due for an item that was never mailed?

Supposedly only USPS stuff is to be in a mailbox. So they are considering Amazon is placing this in your mailbox and mailed to you. My problem is that this was mailed to us and a post office messed up thinking this was one of them.

This came from an employee who watched some of it happen.

The bug bites have been weird this year. I'm not seeing many mosquitos but the bites are appearing.

As for your problem, those are hickeys (or curling iron burns - Did my sister really believe Mom and Dad would fall for that).

I get their reasoning, but charging a consumer for a service never delivered still seems illegal. Are they going to start charging postage due to the mail carriers when I put a Christmas gift/tip in the mailbox for my carrier?

But I'm sure it is great for USPS Public Relations. :D

I kind of wonder if this is a USPS sanctioned activity or if it is a rogue Postmaster who is pissed off and is going off on his/her own doing this.

The actual delivery on a sheet of paper. Postage on it was 1.32 which the employee said was about right. They rung it up and said the charge was for a priority box mailing, which this wasn’t.
