But they're profits.
No, you don't understand. We're $20M in the hole. Unless you have one single thing that's going to bring in $20M, it's not going to help fix the problem.
But they're profits.
Neither will most donations….but as we’ve been told, it all adds up.It’s hardly going to put a dent in that deficit, especially when you look at start up overhead and other overhead.
I've evolved into 1-2 quality beers (or drinks) as kind of my norm in life. And I'm slowly moving away from that and preferring a Climbing Kites on ice any time the weather is nice.I don’t understand the “anyone who wants to sell beer in the stadium is automatically a raging alcoholic” stance.
Some people just want to have a beer while watching the game. You know, the same thing you can do at any other sporting event in America.
Agree, if they sell beer make it Ames Lager and separate it from the other concessions. Don’t need it backing everything up.You sure about that? I was under the impression that the soon to be departing President was the main obstacle. I don't know if she may have a big money donor in her ear.
I am not against JTS beer sales as long they exclusively sell Ames Lager at a high price to make it worthwhile for West O as well and have 4 separate kiosks for it in each corner of the concourse.
Now I am starting to think you or the people around you need to get checked into that clinic you mention earlier. Then go somewhere where they serve alcohol during games. ISU doesn't. Nobody is being holier than thou. Maybe we've just been around drunks too much where "a drink or two" turns into five or six and decorum and your balance fly out the window and you go stumbling around making a nuisance of yourself. Hardly anyone stops at one or two drinks. The purpose of alcohol is to get tipsy. Otherwise, you'd just be drinking soda pop. So don't tell me you stop at one or two. I'm not buying it.

If attendance starts to drop I think it would happen but otherwise probably not. I don’t particularly care one way or the other but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t sort of enjoy how upset it makes some people that we don’t. If we eventually do I’ll probably feel the same way about how it upsets people that didn’t want it so kind of a win win I guess.I’m pro-selling alcohol inside the stadium. But this thread needs to die because it isn’t going to happen while Pollard is AD.
Iowa State fansLol! You literally think anytime someone starts drinking their goal is to get completely wasted? You've never been around someone who had a couple of drinks and stopped? Who the hell do you hang out with?
Why does JP allow drinking in the tailgating lots then? And why does he allow fans to leave at halftime and go slam more beer or do shots??Then go somewhere where they serve alcohol during games. My boss tried to give me a bonus that would have covered ~5% of my recent hospital bill, but I said “Absolutely not!! No monies is better than a few monies!”Is a small profit better than no profit? Asking for a friend.

And fish sandwich specials at fast food restaurants, and backing into their parking stalls for mass. I kid, I kid.Booze and making babies.
This might be one of the silliest things I've ever read on this board. There is no evidence to suggest in any measurable way that selling beer in JT would result in "more drunks" in or around the stadium - at any point on game day. Your take is absolutely a "holier than thou" take, and there is no other reasonable way to describe it.Then go somewhere where they serve alcohol during games. ISU doesn't.
