    I would say Confluence is probably the outlier. They have a big enough following at this point.

    They definitely make their money on the weekends but with their overhead that doesn't pencil out in the long run.

    Barntown and Big Grove both make good beers and offer good food. That's the only successful combination for the long run.

    Firetrucker or Backpocket. I don't know how back pocket is doing it, their overhead has to be huge and their beers are terrible. I've been there a lot and it's never very busy and the service has been really bad. Their food isn't great either. It's too bad because Johnston needs a nice place...

    It's not just in person socialization though, Gen Z consumes alcohol in a much different fashion than we did. All of the different beverage categories are getting crushed right now. Seltzers and RTD's are in the best shape out of them all though. Legal weed is a big part of this discussion too.

    There will be a lot more of this, Iowa is way behind the national curve. I went to the Valley West location a few times with friends and I was disappointed every time.

    This doesn't get talked about enough IMO. Culver's rapid growth forced them to change suppliers for fries and their cheese curds and they were both significant steps back IMO.

    US Bank has multiple club areas. If you've never done it, I highly recommend doing the stadium tour, it's really cool.

    Not gonna lie man, Culver's has been letting me down. They just aren't nearly as consistent as they used to be.

    Just my two cents but B-Bops has the best basic double cheeseburger in the DSM metro. I will say some locations are better than others and the Urbandale restaurant on Meredith is consistently really good.
