    Radar rotation has gotten much stronger and tighter over the last 10 minutes. Right over Omaha/CB border.

    Starting to move into peak season for Iowa. June is most common month. May is very active as well. This chart is Iowa tornadoes only.

    The other part about this argument that never makes any sense, is even if you quit warning radar indicated storms, and only warned storms with tornadoes on the ground, it's still likely that you personally won't be hit by the tornado that your warning triggered. So the people bent out of shape...

    Read the Joplin after-action sometime. 150+ deaths, a significant number of them from survivor accounts and other evidence died on their way to shelter because, despite the warnings, they didn't act until they personally perceived physical danger.     Of this Top-10 list, the only two that had multiple, separate 6"+ events were 1923, and 1893. 1888 was 17" all in one day. The top spot contains the Des Moines single day record, with 19.8 on New Year's Day of 1942.
