And what people don’t realize is, besides having to buyout your next coach, the school also has to find the funds to pay the leaving coach’s deferred comp and other benefits/incentives that are built into a compensation agreement.     Importance of buyout at ISU isn’t to prevent TJ from leaving. It’s to compensate the school for the coach leaving. When Campbell left, his tiny buyout did nothing really to cover the bowl fine, pay a buyout for the next coach, and pay expenses of those leaving. CMC had a ton of deferred...
