Friday OT - In Your Wheelhouse

I have used most of the phrases that have been mentioned already, but my Grandfather (RIP) had one that still makes me smile……. If he was in a debate / argument about something and he felt pretty strongly about his stance, he would say……”Tell you what, if you’re right I will kiss your *ss on...

Iowa State's all-time record against each of its 2025 opponents

And up until the Vampire showed up it was pretty lopsided towards the good guys which tells you how bad KSU football was. I guess he was pretty pissed we didn’t hire him to replace Walden and decided to take it out on us over the next 20+ years.

    Smoking Meat Questions and Discussion

You can but you would miss out on chops (or loins and ribs) and bacon - and who doesn’t like a good old fashioned head cheese?;) May need to get a whole hog if you want brats and sausage too.

    I was there

Unfortunately, I was not there. Had tickets, but was unavoidably detained playing in the HS state semifinals 30 minutes away. ISU wasn’t the only good guys that won that day in dramatic fashion…….;)

    HVAC complaint

Time to find an new HVAC company. Like a lot of professions (mechanics, plumbers, electricians, attorneys, doctors, etc.) find the ones that are honest and hold on to them tightly. Short story about a local Toyota dealership in FTD, that also happens to have a dealership in Ames….. Car needed...

It is imperative that this fan base understand this...

To say that Jamie was built for this is an understatement as he had perhaps the perfect apprenticeship at UW. For those that were old enough to remember, UW athletics were in a similar situation prior to hiring Barry to coach the football team. He was their Matt Campbell. A major difference...

It is imperative that this fan base understand this...

If you haven’t seen it already, I encourage you to go see the 5:00 Jon Gruden Iowa State social media infomercial video in the respective thread. Man have we come a loooooooonnnnnnnnggg ways.

A must-read piece for any ISU fan from the Athletic...

These are the same words I share with my sons and they just don’t get it……..They don’t grasp why dad doesn’t get as amped up as he once did about Cyclones sporting events. While part of it is maturity and perspective, a good portion of it is just wanting to enjoy the ride that has been long...

    The Sam's Club Thread

You ever been to the Sam’s in Ankeny on a Saturday in the middle of the day? It is the definition of a zoo. Not a fan of waiting in line for gas either……at least the app is a godsend where you can move at your own pace, scan your stuff as you go, pay for it, and leave without waiting in line to...

    Another female teacher incident

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes……. Seems to be the official sport of Florida. Could this be a future Olympic sport?

    Why is life worth living?

There are most definitely little joys in life. Wearing school colors in enemy territory is one of them. Think of it as a very respectable middle finger to everyone but the one and only thing of value in Iowa City. And that is my 16yo son that does it…….raised him right!

    Why is life worth living?

Another option I forgot to mention……. You should be able to have your primary care physician complete the paperwork as well. There may be some more back and forth this way but it would at least get the conversation started, which is important.
