So, where do we go from here?

Great season, pretty much all that any of us could have hoped for. The real question is, what happens next year. The knows are the incoming freshmen and the King kid, plus assuming Grill, Jones, Hunter and Jackson will be back. Not sure on Walker, and at this point we have no clue what seniors will come back for their COVID year. It seems reasonable that TJ knows who is or is not coming back now or will soon. Just seems weird that he threw this team together, and next year it could look like a completely different team again. College BB has gotten quite complicated in the last couple years.

We cycle out the roster as normal and do it all over again, I hope.

There's room to upgrade talent and achieve more. For this season, we did more than we set out to do or even planned for. Happy as can be.
This is my biggest concern, that we are now just hoping to get lucky on some transfers. TJ seems to have a plan, so we will have to wait and see. It will be interesting to see how many transfers he takes this year. Hopefully he will get some younger transfers so they are here for more than a year.

I have loved Iowa State since 1964
I cant hide the fact last night was the WORST basketball performance by Cyclone basketball in memory. I see all this love this morning for “bringing us back “ ???
To WHAT? A hideous performance??
I hope this staff can recruit and fast!!

My guess-
Gabe and Jaz will come back.
IZB and George decide not to return.
Tristan, TJack, and Walker transfer.
I think this is mostly right, but I only see 2 of the three guys transferring (not sure exactly who stays).

If you are such a diehard you would know we get into shooting slumps in a bad way. That was nothing new. Its still a hell of a turn around.

You must have skipped over those bad '70s Ken Trickey years when there was about 500 people attending games in Hilton.

All 3 games were really ugly, but that is our style. Biggest difference last night is Miami had 5 days to prepare and it was clear they followed the B12 strategy to beat us. Lots of pressure out front on the ball and pressure passing lanes. It's our poison.

Whatever we do, I hope we find a way to shoot more free throws.

Our opponents are going to get a lot of them with our aggressive defense, which I don't want to change. But we have to either knock down 3's or get to the FT line.

We weren't doing either very consistently this year, and that's a big point delta to overcome.
