Awful post
Those 40 point beat downs in Columbia and Lawrence that Coach Orr took on in the 80's and 90's must have been erased from your memory. Same for the entire 1970's (minus Coach John).

Perhaps even last year.

I admittedly had doubts after the hire and was wrong on every level and I am so glad. One of the great coaching jobs to ever happen at ISU and last night did nothing but give me hope. If THAT group of guys can make it work.... can we do this again?

hard to not believe
the funny thing is those same Orr teams that got beat down on the road would beat those same teams at Hilton.

but
Agreed, that was a really bad performance against a bad defense. Their numbers don't lie, they were ranked 119th in defense which is alot worse than even Iowa was.

That being said there is no way I can be unhappy with the season. Besides, sending that POS Davison home in front of his own fans is Wisconsin was probably the biggest ISU win in 20 years.
We had good looks, just missed. It was contagious too, it was everyone missing.

We have to get a shooter and a legitimate post presence out of the portal. Absolutely have to. Or going to be a long season.

My only hope is that our seniors decide quickly so TJ knows what he’s working with.

I like our freshman class, but it will take awhile for them to contribute. I don’t know that any are going to have immediate impact along the lines of Hunter, Haliburton, etc.

Lip set may be most ready if you consider his job is going to be spot minutes to back up Hunter. King may very well have the highest ceiling, but it’s a huge jump going from Minnesota 2A basketball to the Big 12. Watson is a total wildcard for me.

I just want us to be competitive when we get this far. It looks like a once per 6 or 7 year Sweet 16 appearance on average then we look like we've never played basketball before.

Credit the other teams I guess, and losing Niang really hurt in 2014 but besides Virginia we've been blown out twice now by a 7 and 10 seed.

I have loved Iowa State since 1964
I cant hide the fact last night was the WORST basketball performance by Cyclone basketball in memory. I see all this love this morning for “bringing us back “ ???
To WHAT? A hideous performance??
I hope this staff can recruit and fast!!
Get your memory and your T levels checked.

I love the Hunter - Lipsey set up we have at the point.

So, I just checked, and I've been here on CycloneFanatic.com since April of 2006. I really do enjoy this site, and I think when it comes to my online time I'm here more than any other site, with the possible exception of checking my email. And most of the time I really do enjoy being here and interacting with all of you, with the occasional and notable exceptions.

I'm writing all of this just to emphasize to anyone who is reading this that the quoted post above is the dumbest f*cking thing I've ever read on here in my close to 16 years on here.

Don't forget the other King, Tre King. That's one transfer in already for next year and has a year practicing with TJ and staff.

As of right now.. The Big 12 has a chance to take a slight step down compared to this year. But there is SOO much transfer action left to confidently say that.

The goal HAS to be a birth in Des Moines for 2023 March Madness. That means we need to build a team capable of finishing top 5 in the Big 12 and top 25 by selection Sunday. The Midwest Regional is played in KC next season!

If IB stays. We need to add a sharp shooter with decent guard size to pair next to him.
I'd rather Gabe leaves and IB comes back. Replace Gabe with a big scoring guard who can shoot 3's.

George's scholarship needs to be filled with either another Jaz, Tre King type post who can really stretch a defense or a BULLDOG rebounder and defender

Jackson and Walker scholarship's would be AMAZING to upgrade.

Yeah, the part about the worst performance in ISU is laughable. Heck, there were a lot more embarrassing games this year. The entire last season was more embarrassing then that Sweet 16 loss. I mean they were in the game until 10 minutes left and it got away when Miami started making everything and ISU started missing everything.
