would be nice if WVU stays ranked after only losing by 11 to OSU. Another opportunity for a road win against a ranked team.

No, the loss to a below average iowa team is a backbreaker.

Replace the iowa loss with a win against UMass or a Texas State and you are a top 10 team, no doubt.

Non-con SOS would means nothing if you win the Big 12 with 0 or 1 loss. You would have to be in the playoff.

Drop the iowa game and do what is best for Iowa State Football, start looking at Conference championships and major bowls as the goal. Big-time programs have big-time goals, beating an in-state rival was a goal, CMC has raised the bar, we have new goals.

Hold on to the lead at the end of the game, they beat Iowa and are in the top 10 as well. But without the loss to Iowa does that give this team the fuel to make the changes needed to be where they are now? Fixing the mistakes at the end of games that lead to closing out games for wins are better learned from losses.

I get it that we lost to Texas and Iowa. But, when I sit here and watch all of these commentators putting Ohio State ahead of OU, they are saying that OSU isn't the same team that got beat by OU at home. Well, we aren't the same team that lost to Iowa or Texas. We might be the only team with 2 top 4 wins. If we aren't top 15, it's BS in my opinion.

Still putting Okie St, OU, TCU, in better bowls than ISU just shows that people still aren't buying it. The rankings will likely reflect similar thinking.

Disagree. Look at the top tier programs like Ohio State, they aren't afraid to play good competition in the non con.

The Iowa Iowa State game won't be dropped anytime soon.

I'm thinking TCU will (and should) hang on to the top ten, but it will be close.

11 spot jump in the coaches poll. They have been under ranking us the last few weeks.
I'll predict 14-15 in the AP poll and similar in the CFP poll.

To be honest, I don't really care. And I'm not sure CMC does either, which is good.

It doesn't mean anything right now. Just keep winning every week, and the ranking will take care of itself. Lose next week, and it won't really matter where we were ranked this week.

I understand it's fun for fans to talk about though, which is what these message boards are for, but it doesn't mean a whole lot.

To be honest, then why write a long winded post that you don't care? WTF

I agree completely. If we realistically want to win the Big 12, you should also expect to beat Iowa. Playing an extra cupcake doesn't help the team get better.

I'm not in favor of playing cupcakes, but the Ohio State comparison fails because the "analysts" will slobber all over the Buckeye knob and make excuses for them when they lose some of those non-con games and then follow it up with a relatively weak Big 10 schedule. OSU should NOT be ranked so much higher than Oklahoma--Big 10 Homerism.

14th. Did not expect that big of a jump. It doesn't matter cause it's the AP, but we're the top ranked two-loss team.
