Re: Does Steele getting starting job change your prediction?

Quite possibly the least amount of logic ever used on a CF question. And that's saying a lot.

So you think Jantz takes us to 6-6. If Tiller or Barnett had won, wouldn't it mean they were BETTER and therefore our record would be equal or better?

There's no logic to base it off of. Two of them have never taken a snap and Tiller has only seen limited time on the field. It was always going to be hopeful/irrational argument. Jantz is clearly the better option from an "inspiring irrational confidence in the fanbase" standpoint.

I would seriously like what you guys are drinking or smoking when you think we are going to win anywhere from 5-7 games. I will go in the middle, who on earth do you think we are going to beat to get to 6 games?? We will not beat
Iowa, @ Uconn, Texas, @ Baylor, @Missouri, Texas A&M, @ Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, @Oklahoma and with K-State at the end of the year they will only be better so i can't see us winning that also.

Ya gotta believe man. Last year we were so close to getting to 7 wins with a similar tough schedule - we could have pulled out the K-St and Nebraska games. You just never know. I could see us beating Iowa, @ UCONN, @ Baylor maybe at TX Tech maybe Texas at home - we typically play Missouri tough - sure we won't win them all, but this program could be ready to really turn the corner.

translation: pillow talk with one of the walk-ons.

Actually it's more like making stuff up or he heard it from someone who heard it from someone who heard it from someone who is a walk on that posted it in some thread on this site. Clones 21 is 14 or 15.

my prediction is that Iowa will win the NC since they are clearly the best team in the nation! The scores may indicate that they lose a few games but that didn't really happen. what happened was that they were either a) screwed by the officials b) had to play at 11am each week thus deflating the team and not allowing the nation to see how truly dominant they are c) there will be a rash of injuries that were perpetrated by an unseen force thus resulting in a string of L's. These 3 reasons along with any others you can think of will result in some losses that will ultimately be nullified by Hawk Nation thus resulting in the Squawks finishing undefeated this season and winning a close NC game by a score of at least 110 - 2 with the safety coming on a blown call by the officials when Vandenberg was clearly down at the 1. :jimlad:(not sure if this is necessary but added to avoid confusion)

Andrew Luck is the next 'Tebow'-media darling sort of guy...you are going to hear a ton about this guy from everybody and unless he gets hurt or has a horrendeous season, he's a lock to win that bronze statue that is suppose to go to 'the best player in college football'

I predict we will...

1) Play in some cold weather
2) Have some of the best tailgating in the Big XII
3) Exceed the media's expectations
4) Add that corny farm scene to our trophy case
5) Put one of the best defenses in our history on the field
6) Have a much improved offense over last season
7) Beat KSU
8) Win a bowl game

They do not miss Wisconsin. They start the B10 season in Madison.

Have you ever watched Luck play?

I don't need the media to tell me that he's the best football player in America.

If Bama runs the table, Richardson is going to push for the award based on SEC SEC SEC bias.

Pretending to predict the future is a waste of time.

You are cute! I bet you wouldn't have had a problem with my post if I didn't make the comment about Auburn, and your BFF (you may not get that but it stands for best friend forever) Gene Chizik not going to a bowl game.

1. agree
2. id say 50/50 on 9 wins

4. wow you picked 4 schools ranked 26-35 Haha yeah I know I didn't go out to far on a limb there. I was trying to come up with 4 schools and it was tougher than I thought
5. LSU wins at least 9 games most likely 10 games this year (losses to oregon and bama) I will admit it's a shot in the dark. I just have a feeling that this bar fight is going to drag on and be a distraction and with their schedule if they lose a game or two early...it could fall apart. They play big in big games and stink in smaller games.
6. heisman winner will come from sec (remember these names richardson and lattimore)
7. tough to say, only one real road test to happy valley, otherwise toughest game is at home and they miss wisconsin. They play at Wisconsin, @Penn St, and play Ohio State. Much tougher schedule than Iowa or Michigan State
8. i like those picks
9. weak conf with run first team yeah prolly. blackmon will lead nation in rec yds, tds, and will surpass 2000 rec yds. Casey Keenum will lead nation in passing yds. DeDe Clowney will lead nation in sacks. True freshmen leading the NCAA in sacks? Ballsy! I like it
10. I think they send nebraska if they make big10 final game instead of okie state.

If that happens I would like to think our record would be better then 5-7. Putting pressure on the quarterback would of made last years team so much better

agree completely. The DBs were hung out to dry to often last year with no consistent pass rush. If the 'Clones can get in the face of the QB then we have a shot of making things happen and going better than 5-7...say 7-5

In all seriousness, didn't read your post until now -- I get grouchy these 2-3 weeks before the games cuz it's all just rehashing and I want to see real live FB games. No offense was intended.........just a grouchy old man venting.

1. If I had $100 and were in Vegas, I would put it on ISU against UNI.
2. Same goes for the Texas game - albeit the money would be on Texas.
3. Iowa will lose in Nebraska - but only if Martinez is alive and well at that point in season.
4. Iowa will play in Outback bowl, which will be a decent season considering, and ISU fans will tell us that it's not a good bowl and we will argue. (oh yeah, we win that said game)
5. ISU will not make a bowl game.
6. Oklahoma wins national championship.
7. Stanford will win 8 games.
8. Steele Jantz throws 15 TDs and 12 INTs.
9. South Carolina wins SEC.
10. 8 of 10 of these predictions will not even be close.

wow, i looked at nebraska's schedule and completely overlooked wisconsin.

as far as picking a team that will be ranked that isnt now i would look at northern illinois. they have a favorable schedule playing in the mac, and there non conf consists of army, kansas, wisconsin, and cal poly. i look for them to be 9-3 10-2.
