This is the 10th NCAA tournament since the Fizer/Tinsley run.

I hate how far in the past that has become. It was the only thing we had to brag about to other fans. Now we dont have anything (unless you are that guy that likes to bring up stuff 10 years old)

Hard to believe I was in HS when this all happened.

I have the tape of the Big 12 Tournament Championship game on tape, and there's one moment from that game I'll never forget. It was toward the end when it was obvious ISU was gonna win, and the announcer states that ISU was the Big 12 regular season champion, the Big 12 Conference Tournament champion, had the Big 12 Newcomer of the year, Big 12 coach of the year, and the Big 12 player of the year. It still gives me chills listening to it.

I was watching the KU-KSU game last night and they were talking about Big 12 teams that had won both the regular season and the conference tournament titles in the same season. I think they listed all of them but left us out. :no:

Larry told us at the time to enjoy it, and that runs like that are rare in college basketball. He knew, although there is no way in hell he knew how bad the lean years would actually get.

At the time I had just started a new job and couldn't get the time off to go to the Big 12 tourney or Minneapolis regional. I watched and listened to the games. I destinctly remember that I wasn't that upset that I couldn't go. I remember thinking "there will be more good times in the near future." Oh if only I could have known how wrong I would be.:sad:

We got MORE than we asked for, unless we secretly asked to be paired off against the highest #1 seed in what amounted to a home game for them, and to also be bent over and screwed by horrible officiating. I'm not sure we asked for ALL of that simply by wanting to be in Minny.
