I don't see any of our guys on scholarship that I would call a waste. Obviously you do. Who are you referring to?

I don't, but that is one of the 'excuses' I have heard. That we need to give Mac a pass on recruiting classes because we 'just needed bodies'. I think the guys we brought in last year have potential, but in all honesty, I don't see Boozer sticking around. You could argue that MacIntosh, Dunson, and Vette were wasted scholarships...

That would be the start of a New Era for us. The JP ERA. I am with you. It is possible if we play at a high level.

Cmac and Dunson were signed because yes, we needed bodies. Should Gmac have just had open tryouts on campus instead of getting some guards who could compete? Plus, during that 'signing bodies' period he picked up Wes J.

Why don't you see Boozer sticking around? Do you have some inside info? He is a FRESHMAN for crap's sake. Can we at least wait til guys are upperclassmen before putting the knife in them? I think keeping guys like Boozer is going to be key to Gmac's success. If we can't develop veteran depth on the team, we are going to be in trouble.

I don't place a lot of blame on Mac for the recruits last year. He basically had to throw a class together at the last minute. However, I he is completely responsible for Brister and Vette IMO.

I have some pretty personal experience with the kinds of issues that it has been inferred that Vette has been having. Trust me, with those kinds of issues, there isn't anyone in the world who can tell that they are present. That one is not Gmac's fault one bit.

Brister, however, falls squarely on McDermott's shoulders.

I see what you are saying but if Gmac gets all the credit in the world for finding Wes (which was a little lucky) then he should take the blame for being a little unlucky with Vette. My opinion of course.

I think you have to classify it differently than Brister. Brister had some obvious issues, but we took the chance. Vette's problems completely blindsided the staff.

Don't bother 85...he likes McDermott but yet downgrades the guy ALL THE TIME...all the time. And puts McDermott down while being impressed with Martin...who couldn't win with the players KSU has? He's only 8-5 in conference, and has some very non-flattering non-conference losses. And although he "likes McDermott", evidently what Greg has done at his previous stops does nothing for his track record, and apparently gives no indication he'll get it done here...also, winning with Jiri, Rahshon, Marsden, and Gray is easier than winning with a lottery pick and the Bernard King supposively. What a joke...I have no problem with people not being willing to just let the last two years slide, or people that have doubts...what I do have a problem with is these people using teams with McDonald's All-Americans and unbelievable tradition as a comparison for why our coach is not getting it done...please, tell us where Greg should have us RIGHT NOW, since apparently you have a loser's attitude if you think we'll have to be patient until at least next year before we see where we're actually going.
Would you people stop saying Gillispie had Bernard King. King's last year was 2002-2003. Gillispie's first year was 2004-2005. Antoine Wright ... Yes. Acie Law ... Yes, but he worked very hard to convince him to stay.

Honestly, open tryouts would have been fine. Yeah, its crazy and last year would have been an absolute bust, but I still think if you can't find the RIGHT guy, then don't sign anyone, especially with our APR issues right now...

Wait, wait....

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Les Miles coaching record at LSU (in the toughest conference in the nation):
11-2
11-2
12-2

Hasn't lost a bowl game or even been challenged. He has a Peach Bowl win over Miami 40-3, a Sugar Bowl win over Notre Dame 41-14, and a national title win over OSU 38-24.

But you're right. He is an awful coach. Thanks for the laugh.

I have family that works withing the LSU football program and is very close to Les Miles. Trust me when I say he is not the best FB coach. He does some silly, silly things and it is the people around him that cover his butt.
