Hoping for a big body.

Anthony/Smith/Barkley had an interesting discussion going on at the desk last week. They observed that schools across the size spectrum (small to major conference) can get guards, but the schools that move on are the ones that can also control the post/inside game.

A team also needs bigs to practice against and push each other. ISU is losing two bigs.

1 is going to Lockett.

Sounds like it. With one more to fill, the following are my preferences based on the limited knowledge we have at this time:

1. Oriakhi
2. Pelle
3. McKay
4. Sanchez
5. Lancona

This is not a bad thing.

Signed,

Mizzou

Not having bigs is not good. Mizzou lost in the round of 64 because they couldn't control the interior against a 15 seed.

BTW, I hate calling the round of 64 the second round. Stupid play-in games...

TJ McConnell, soph PG from Duquesne is transferring. He could sit a year, then come in after Lucious leaves and have two to play.

Btw, he's GOOD. 11ppg, 5.5 apg. 2.2 TOpg.

I have no idea if we're interested...

I am not fan of bringing two more senior to be players. What we need is one more senior to be and another solid fresh/soph transfer/Juco.

Bringing senior to be will create good team for next year, but will not get anything in return for the following year.

If I were Tyrus/Babb/Booker, I wouldn't be too happy if Fred started to bring in all those senior to be players and take their minutes away from them. Total motivation killer.

Motivational killer? Step yo game up

1) Lockett 2) McKay -- his recruitment is heating up. I would be fine with him orihakaloogy or Pelle as well. Pelle seems rather....interesting though.

If Lockett is one of them I'd like to see an athletic shotblocker get the other. I think Percy is going to be a great postscorer, as well as Georges down the line, but would be great to have an intimidating presence in there on defense.

They should go to the best players available, regardless of class. We're all dead in the long run, so making the NCAAs again next year is job 1.

We can have a nice class of high school guys (like Thomas), JUCOs (like the Iowa JUCO we are recruiting), and possibly even another transfer or two for next year with the open scholarships after next season.
