This is how I see it going down:
With Craig
1-Buckley at start of season, I think Colvin will challenge for the starting spot by the end of the year.
2-Diante, Lucca, Christopherson, Boozer I think that Christopherson may very well start by the end of the year, but who will play depends a lot on matchups
3-Gilstrap, Lucca,Dendy, Boozer, possibly another recruit
4-Brackins, Dendy, LA
5-Hamilton, JVB
If he leaves
1-3 the same
4-Dendy, possible recruit, LA
5-Hamilton, VDB
Dendy's game is very similar to Demarre Carrol's. He can play the three or the 4, slash, and post up.
Also, if CB stays, we could also go with a lineup like this:
1-Buckley Colvin
2-Diante
3-Gilstrap
4- Dendy
5- brackins
The last line-up would be very, very athletic, though Gilstrap would be the only shooter with range out there.

At the beginning of the season

DG
Lucca
Gilstrap
Brackins
Hamilton

But they are all guards, we don't need any forwards.

Why does everyone think DG will start at the 2? The guy struggle shooting the ball, that is kind of important when you are the shooting guard. Buck would be better at the 2, but Buck did handle the ball last year when he and DG were in the game, not sure what that means. We need a PG that can lead the team, push the ball, see the court, and make things happen. Whoever can do that should see the most mins.

If we're gonna suck again we may as well throw Colvin in early and see if we can develop him as fast as possible.

Yes you are right DG did have a problem with HANDLING the ball. buckley did a better of getting the ball up the court partly cuz he is stronger than DG i like Buckley better than Dg although Dg is a better ball handler and has a few more moves that Buckley

Agree w/ the lineups.

Disagree w/ his game being like Carrols. Maybe he can play the 3 and 4 but Carrol is a force. He is huge. Dendy does not appear to be that way

Normal Lineup:
1. Garrett
2. Lucca
3. Gilstrap
4. Brackins or Dendy
5. Hamilton

Shooters Lineup:
1. Colvin
2. Christopherson
3. Lucca
4. Gilstrap/ Vanderbeken
5. Brackins or Dendy

Athletic Lineup:
1. Garrett
2. Colvin or Buckley
3. Gilstrap
4. Dendy or Brackins
5. Pomlee or Brackins

Just a few thoughts on lineups/ looks- none are necessarily a "starting lineup"... as who starts at the tip doesn't usually matter.

Yeah, Dendy isn't as physically built like Carrol, but he plays a very similar style.

I hope so. Carrol works his *** of. I see Dendy as a better shooter as Carrol but w/o the low post presence. Carrol has a good baby hook.

Glad to see I didnt make your ignore list

DING DING DING.

If CB stays then this is what it will be and should be. Garrett will be Junior. Buckley or Colvin running the show with no experience could be a problem.
Lucca would be automatic if we had balance to the team down low and an athletic 3 man. He would be open a lot more.

Your still on it, but I still read your posts in the non-recruiting/ scholarship threads.

That's the way I see it. I don't know which point guard (Garrett, Buckley or Colvin) really belongs in the shooting line-up. I see that Colvin only took 13 three-point attempts in 27 games.

IHSA Chicago (Whitney Young) Boys Basketball

Look at how balanced the scoring was for Colvin's high school team. Also look at how many rebounds Colvin pulled down.

Huh? Don't get it

Did I really hurt your feelings so much that you put me on the ignore list?
Not so much you hurt my feelings as I'm tired of getting in arguments. With the ignore feature, you can select to view someone's posts on an individual basis.

With that many options, we should be able to find a lot of succesful combinations both offensively and defensively, making it easier to find favorable matchups.
