with the excitement swirling for our guys this fall, what do you expect attendance to look like for the home games? think we can sell out?

with out a doubt.. til the farmers hit the field and then you see the attendance start to dwindle... unless we're undefeated going into the last game expect the same thing unfortunately.

The NIU home opener will be decently full, but not packed - 44-46,000ish
The UNI game will be packed - 53-55,000ish
Texas Tech (family weekend) and Utah will be full - 48-50,000ish.
Kansas (homecoming) will be full - 48-50,000ish.
Nebraska will be packed - 53-55,000ish.
Missouri's crowd will be based on our record and how cold it is - 40-50,000ish.

I've got to be honest, I don't like the Thurs. night openers. I think it hurts attendance and my ability to tailgate.

We don't have room for 55,000 anymore....capacity is closer to 53,000 because of the seats lost during renovation.

And we'll never "sell out" because they'll always sell more hillside tickets. We "sell out" the 45,000 real seats we have every game in attendance, although some of those people will be in the hillsides.

You're two biggest crowds EVER were when UNI rolled in.

Expect 57,000+ again on September 25. At least 6,000-8,000 UNI fans as well...

I don't see any way of 57,000 just because we had 56,795 last time, and we've cut down seats since then by a couple thousand. It was PACKED in '07.

I am UNI grad and root for them when they are playing ISU, but UNI lost way too much last year. ISU will roll, the 6-8000 fan will be silent by the end of the first quarter.

In 2007 there were a LOT of people inside JTS, counted in that UNI attendance that couldn't see a damned thing.

We'll sell well over our 43,000 actual seats up to the Nebraska game. Missouri game will be weather and record dependent, but remember Hillsides are only $10 for the Missouri and KU games. If we're fighting for a bowl bid, I don't think we'll be under 46-47K at all this season, and absolutely packed for UNI and Nebraska.

It still cracks me up that we list attendance at 55,000. Once you hit 50,000, the rest of the people can't really see anything.

I'm still stewing over 2007. I hope we absolutely bludgeon UNI into a bloody pulp. I want the final score to look something like 48-7. That'll shut the ILs up.

That said, I'll root for UNI the rest of the year, especially in the FCS playoffs (if they make it).

Nebraska will likely be the biggest attendance game of the season. Nebraska fans without season tickets can see their team easier and cheaper when they are in Ames than in their own stadium. UNI game will likely be the 2nd best but to think we'll pack the Jack for every game is probably wishful thinking. The KU and Mizzou games will likely be 48,000 or less because of the time of the year with farmers in the field and the weather getting cooler.

Excuse me root for them when they are NOT playing ISU!

I think ISU wins.

The win in '07 plus the near miss in Iowa City last year plus it being game four instead of game one gives ISU every conceivable advantage.

It won't be a NDSU/SDSU blowout from the past couple of years but somehow 34-14 makes some sense to me, especially because Farley has fallen in love with an 'athlete' at quarterback in Terrell Rennie rather than the WINNER in Zach Davis. Didn't learn his lesson with the 'athlete' Fat Grease....

The athlete will win if the rest of the team is a worth a damn. If I was Farley, I'd probably do the same.
