Ames only up 22-18 at halftime against Cedar Rapids Washington.

I would love to see Ames go down...but that's for reasons pertaining to where I graduated from.

Did you know that Harrison Barnes has only been called for 19 fouls all season?

At least that was the stat I heard tossed around at Wells Fargo yesterday.

I hope Ames get's beat and UConn womens team loses also. I hate both of them.

Bitter?

Ames won't lose and will once again win it all. This sluggish game is great for them - hard to get their attention for state if they win in a laugher.

It was close because of the slooooow play by their opponent.

If this game ends close would anyone see this as another showing of a decent MVC team keeping it close with the only great team in the CIML? Basically meaning the competition is better int he MVC? Just throwing that out there.

The margin in this game has nothing to do with the relative conference strengths. This particular Ames team is in a class apart from a talent standpoint.

Without Barnes they would still be in contention for a title, with him they are just silly good.

Ames ups 16 now. Barnes with 27. Mcdermott has 7. Coach must have pulled Harrison aside and told him to get with it.

The same way you're hoping in the back of your mind that the girl that dumped you years and years ago somehow wants you back; I'm still hoping Harrison Barnes and Doug McDermott change their minds.

I really thought this stat would blow everyone away...so much for that.

I think Ames is a horribly coached team. Way too lazy with the ball, and inconsistent with effort.
Put Sam Powell (DM East girls coach) in charge of that team and no one in Iowa would come within 30.

I agree that Vance Downs is not a great coach. He's just had the luxury of having the best HS bball player in Iowa history and possibly the best team in Iowa history.

He has very little to do with their success, IMO.

I think their average margin of victory is right around 30 points this year.
