I really like this tournament. It gives the newcomers and fans a chance to get into the Sprint before the big 12 tourney. I am sure that it won't be as cardinal and gold as the tourney was, but I hope the fan base packs Sprint again. Nothing like making a neutral court feel like a home contest! :) The field of competition might not be stacked, but there are some compelling match-ups and the three potential opponents are all power conference opponents. I'd rather have a chance to see the team play decent, if not inspired, competition at Sprint than watching them play in a converted convention hall on TV. That Atlantis tourney last year had some great match-ups, but that venue must have been just wretched to play in.

Wish we would have mckay for this tournament

No kidding. Such a big part of our seed last year was our pre-conference success (and of course the Big 12 tourn.) Might be a little tougher to pull it off next season.

I am so interested in this (best time EVER for B12 tourney, and I have been to many), but if I'm reading this right it isn't on a weekend, rather Monday and Tuesday, right? Why would they do that?

TV probably required it. There are a lot of tourneys that week.

Not a bad idea, but think a way better idea would be for it to be held the Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving. Think they would get a packed house especially from CycloneNation.

Conflicts with Black Friday and the football season were probably the biggest considerations for not having it during the weekend. I'm not sure if any other Bball games are scheduled for that weekend, but it seems to me that it would be a disservice to potential audience. Especially as bowl eligibility concerns could make those late season games rather important for some teams. I'm sure the money is the biggest issue though as they wouldn't want to compete with football for advert money and viewership.

Friends and I got our tickets.

The ~$50 sections (facing court, not behind the basket) are getting close to full. We're in one of the tops rows. If you were thinking about that ticket level, I'd recommend jumping on it now.

All the good hotels downtown by the Sprint Center still seem to have capacity.
