My friend has a bet with his neighbor where every calendar day the Twins are in last place in the AL Central, the neighbor owes him $5. Every calendar day the Twins aren't in last place, he owes his neighbor $10. I told him it was a dumb bet to take and now he's in position to lose a lot of money.

Yep. Even if the Twins tank, could take a month before they would get to last place.

Apparently Twins fans don't like to vote?

I would seriously think you have to look at Dozier as an All-Star. Leads the AL in runs scored, and can hit some homeruns.

Mauer/Dozier/Plouffe/Hunter all hitting 250+ batting averages. Consistency has been huge. Bullpen has come around. Still not sold on Nolasco, but if he can hold it together until Santana is back, not too shabby.

Hoping this ride lasts awhile.

Exactly why handing over control of All Star rosters to the fans is stupid. Nothing but a popularity contest and it should be based on performance that season. Dozier better make it or the All Star game is a complete ******* joke!

Yikes. That would seem to be a stupid bet in most cases.

So will this end up in small claims court when he doesn't pay his neighbor the $1500 he owes him?

If they continue to play in June like they have in May, is anyone else a little apprehensive about just plugging Santana into the starting 5? I know the money is already spent, so I already know the answer, but will Molly have him do some middle relief to get back to speed or just plop him in there?

I would imagine that by the time Santana comes back, someone will be hurt, or traded or not pitching well.

let's find out who is doing really well and then trade them. that plan has worked out well in recent year (current year notwithstanding). seems like every year an ex-twin is leading some pitching or batting stat.

I'm surrounded by grumbling Royals fans and loving it

funny how the royals "fanbase" increased about 10 fold in the past year. me thinks they were cards fans who bought new tshirts.

Man this team continues to not only exceed expectations but they're giving them a huge **** you while they're at it! I would have been very happy to see them around .500 right now and never would have believed coming into the season they would be where they're at. It's good to be a Cubs/Twins fan right now. I'd better really enjoy it while I can because I doubt I'll be able to say that very often.

Would you really be disappointed if the Twins traded away Nolasco or Pelfrey? Not sure anyone would want them, but who knows.

I'm sick of the twins trading away payers that are performing well. The farm is loaded and it is finally time to start using those pieces.
I also hope they don't make any foolish trade deadline moves. I'm still mad about Matt Capps.

If the Twins keep staying in contention, I wonder if they do much knowing they'll get Santana. I just hope even if they flutter around 500 they stick the team together knowing next year could potentially be better.

The Twins did the most "Twins thing" yesterday: score 4 in the first inning, don't do anything the rest of the game, and have the leagues' best closer blow the game to a terrible former Twin.

You do realize Perkins was a perfect 18 for 18, right? I hate when fans find something to complain about all the time.

He's still 18 for 18 because yesterday wasn't a save situation. I watch every game that's not during the work day. Every game.

just thought I'd bring a little humor into the thread because it sucks waiting through a rain delay only to have a game end like it did yesterday.
