Note that this is about the easiest non-conference schedule.

It will be interesting to see how the Big 10 teams handle a 9 game conference schedule.

Man I wish we were on this list.

Also doesn't bode well for what they think about us when Iowa is in the top 10 with us on their schedule.

Yeah I should've put that in the thread title. Hard to believe some schools have 4 noncons.

Yea, considering we are 1/3 of their non-conference.

and another third is the 5 time defending national champs at the FCS level.

The guy who wrote the article is an SEC hack though so not surprised none of the SEC made the list even though 3 out of 4 of their nonconference slate is against the worst of the worst.

Unfortunately, we are on this list... as one of the opponents. Ouch.

But I know what you mean... We need to be able to sweep or go 2-1 in the non-conference every year to get a shot at a bowl.

Not sure Hoks will have a cakewalk with 5 straight champs known as the Bisons. Lakes?

Agreed. We are not Baylor, never will be. But we need to have their non-con scheduling. There's no reason to not be 2-1 (in years where Iowa plays its Super Bowl) or 3-0 (in years where Iowa doesnt play its Super Bowl) every year in non-conference. Bring on the easies, like Western Detroit Tech, Coastal North A&T, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois St, Pittsburgh, North Texas, you know, teams like that.

pattern with Iowa: expect a lot, get little. expect low to average, get a lot.

If I am CMC.....

beat the following next year and go to a bowl. thats like saying beat 5 unranked teams and maybe 1 ranked teams. any other wins would be just a bonus.

UNI
SJSU
K-State
Kansas
Texas Tech
WV

But at least we're "pesky."

We're going to play tough, we're going to play smart, we're going to play pesky!

Gotta give ISU a lot of credit. They out-pesked us today.

Then the non-cons will be more important, because that's probably one more bad team on your schedule.

Another ****** piece by ESPN. They don't take into account the 4 game non-con for the SEC. All of the SEC teams play 3 absolute **** team and one average team. For example.

Texas A&M
Prairie View A&M Panthers
New Mexico State
University of Texas - San Antonio (UTSA)
UCLA

LSU
Jacksonville State
Southern Mississippi
South Alabama
Wisconsin

Tennessee
Appalachian State
Ohio
Tennessee Tech
Virginia Tech

And where is Indiana?

Indiana
FIU
Ball State
Wake Forest

If you are using an FCS team to defend the quality of your non-con slate, you have a weak non-con slate. This includes lowly Iowa State by the way.

Hey Daserop, I think you may have overlooked the Gators brutal non-con; 9/3 UMass, 9/17 North Texas, 11/19 Presbyterian, but on 11/26 they play FSU, ALL home games. I don't see how Kansas' is so easy either.
